I've been fortunate to see Opiated, Everytime You Go, 38 Years Old, and Cordelia (twice), but I definitely agree that they should play more from their catelogue. The great thing about their last tour was that they broke out so many different songs. It was awesome to hear songs like The Dark Canuck, Throwing Off Glass, Twist My Arm, Pigeon Camera, etc. and I hope they keep songs like that in the rotation for the next tour.

Maybe the "Perfect Setlist" topic should be resuscitated!

Good to see many of you feel the same way I do. If we keep getting responses like the ones I have read maybe just maybe we will get the tunes from the EP played.

I like these songs as well but think the Hip sound and feel has evolved too much since then for them to use the material. Just listen to Gord’s vocals from the EP and compare them to WATS or WC. I think its a little different when you cover someone else's material as you can take artistic license to to give the tune your spin on it, but this is their own material and I think they would want to stay true to it.
I would love to see a theatre tour where they take up residence for a few shows to play albums in their entirety, kind of like the Pixies with Doolittle and Roger Waters with DSOTM.

While I agree Downie's voice was pretty great on the last two albums - his voice on the live tour was something totally different.
I have been transferring a whole bunch of Hip cassettes to CD lately, and yesterday I was working on two from 2007. And Damn does Downie really suck. His voice seemed shot for the majority of that tour. I know that tour dragged on and on and on - and even at the end of the tour the guys seemed like "get us the 'F' out of here"
But for the WATS tour - I thought his voice was spectacular through out.

If there was ever a perfect storm for The Hip to do "album nights" - it would have been last tour with the multi night, 2 set format. What a missed opportunity.

I just seen the Australian band THE CHURCH and they are doing 3 full albums in their entirety this tour! One from 2009, one from 1993 and one from 1987. Quite a marathon show concept but it was so so cool! Maybe the Hip could do something like this??? Maybe 2 entire albums (one recent and one early career?)

I think I'd rather hear Vaccination Scar, Silver Jet, or No Threat live again.

I started this thread to garner support in hopes we could get the self titled album tunes played for the first time in 20 years. So far I have seen lots of positive comments regarding the original topic, I have also seen many "Requests" for tunes from Up to Here and others. This thread in my mind is more a petition than a request list. Please keep that in mind when commenting. If you support the cause for Self Titled tunes to be played live please add your comment, if you wish to talk about other albums made I am sure there is a form for that.
Thank you.
