Three Juno Nominations
#1

Our boys got three Juno noms today:

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://junoawards.ca/nominees/">http://junoawards.ca/nominees/</a><!-- m -->

Single of the Year for Love is a First
Group of the Year
Rock Album of the Year

They are up against the likes of Nickelback and Billy (no)Talent.

Ugh...

The Junos are a complete joke, but it's never a bad thing to see the Hip nominated.

The Hip really deserve to win all of these and it would be fantastic if they also performed at the Juno's.

Other notables is Mr. Plaskett up for a couple (Adult Alternative Album & Songwriter of The Year) and the Arkells for best new band. Also Bob Rock is up for Michael Buble's album as producer....

But congrats to the Hip, it would be good to win the rock album of year.

Not sure why Morning Moon isn't nominated for single of the year?

They're not on the bill...yet. But Blue Rodeo is...if that's any consolation...

Billy Talent are decent, nice guys, not my favourite, but I some of their tunes are good. I'm looking forward to seeing them with Alexisonfire in less than 20 days.

At least the Hip aren't nominated for "Entertainers of the Year" like they were in the early years - the Junos are definitely a joke (they base many of their nominations on sales alone - what about artist integrity versus pandering to the teeny boppers?). Then again, they've awarded The Hip alot and have shown them to more and more fans, so I guess it's alright that they exist...

Last time i saw Billy Talent, on PEI for festival of lights, it was a frigin mosh pit, and people were injured. Hate to say it, but it was fun. Should be insane with Alexisonfire....even though im not a big fan of their type of music....(screamo is a waste of time in my opinion).

My brother walked out of a free Billy Talent show during his frosh week a few years back. I thought that was hilarious. I never would have gone in the first place. I'm not a fan of the whiny/screaming type stuff.

Alexisonfire is half decent. I have a lot of respect for Dallas Green and his solo stuff is top notch, I think. And his wife is a hottie, lucky guy. 8)
