Hip playing Olympics?
#16

"You never know who is going to be onstage, what's going to happen, who's going to be up jamming. That was part of Tyler Stewart's vision around the entertainment -- he wanted to get up there and jam. It could be Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip, it could be Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, whoever."

I also can't help but wonder who the mystery Ontario band is playing at Ontario pavilion on Feb 20th...
Baseless speculation, I assure you.

It also happens to be the same night the Stereophonics are playing BC Place. Last time the Hip went to England, Kelly Jones joined them onstage. Maybe Gord will return the favour?

Well i can atleast tell you they are NOT part of the Ceremonies.

I won't spoil any details except that there is no Hip during the Opening Ceremonies

On TODAY show this morning there was an interview with Wayne Gretzky and they showed how hockey is so important to Canada.

In the interview they showed Don Cherry in an assortment of outfits  and had the HIP (music not them)playing in the background Big Grin

I think the hip will sing O Canada to Alex as we raise the flag at the medal ceremony tonight.

If you see the little promo on the Molson Hockey and the idiot jumping up and in a Hip Jersey with a Hockey Helmet on - that's me.

I went to the Hockey House on Friday and man was it a good time. Watched the ceremonies there, then The Odds came on which include a guest appearance from Collin James. After that Shaun Majumder from This Hour Has 22 minutes did a quick comedy set. After him Bryan Adams came out and rocked some songs.

Great times for sure. Big week ahead, work is getting in the way.
