A Canadian summer is never complete without two things besides going to the cottage & the traditional long weekend kegger. I'm talking about a Tragically Hip concert and a road trip. With that in mind why not combine them both and while were at it lets throw in a whole bunch of other bands and a weekend at the beach.

Lets hear it Hipbase what are your thoughts on putting together a Hipbase road trip to North Bay on the August long weekend for the North Rocks the Bay festival headlined by our beloved Tragically Hip?

I wouldn't really call it a "weekend at the beach"...the beach ain't much...gonna be a cool place for a show though!

I don't expect anything like Mazatlan or Cancun as long as it's by the waters edge & sunny I wont be complaining!!

Simple Plan has no business having their name on the same poster as Sam Roberts & the Hip. No business whatsoever.

I second that motion.
I remember at Live 8 (July 2005) all the bands were slotted 3 tunes except for one "Simple Plan" I was beside myself when later in the day The Hip only were allowed to play three..

I know it's only the beginning of June and Canada Day plans are on the forefront of people's minds so I'm thinking the interest will be slow for now but I'm hoping it will pick up soon or when Canada Day is over!!

I am leaving North Bay (acutally, the cottage in Mattawa, but close enough) to return to London THE NIGHT BEFORE THE HIP PLAY THERE!!!! They finally return to my original hometown, and i can't go! :nooooo

I understand your frustration what a downer mate. I am in talks trying to convince one of the guys/gals into taping (video) to make the trip up. With luck on our side we shall have a video to share. :thumb:

Sam Roberts for me at least is a great second option the Friday night. :thumb:
