I love how humble Gord always sounds in interviews - like they don't really take anything for granted

Lots of good stuff in the interview. Last Recluse started in a Toronto hotel room with Paul and Gordie - I've often wondered where the bulk of the material comes from and it seems like while its obviously a collaborative effort Paul and Gord could be the main contributors. Also interesting was Gord’s response to the question of where the rants come from (they spoke specifically of Killer Whale Tank and Double Suicide) and the fact they are a way of channeling hand movements when he's not singing. Also mentioned the DS rant started from a creative writing class he took a while back. Called himself a dancer several times which seems like a bit of a stretch in the pure sense of the word, but I understand what he means. Another little gem (for me anyway) was a discussion around the SNL performance in 95(?). The two index fingers pointing up at the begnining of the song was a signal to his nephew, who was turning 11 that day, and the "...I'm tragically hip" lyric was definitely a mistake; he said something like "I screwed the pooch with astronaut jargon"! Too funny. :lol:

Well I'm sure I'm one of the many people who missed it> I learned it was on via facebook but not until after 11am. Anyone else who missed it, the podcast should be posted on the same site within the next few days.

Today, I finally got to listen to the podcast of this interview. Outstanding interview. Required listening for any Hip fan. Gord Downie is insightful, funny, revealing, intelligent, articulate.
I had never heard "Q" before, but I'm an instant fan now. What excellent, in-depth interviews! Just today, I listened to the one hour plus interview with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson (I'm not even a big Rush fan, but it was fascinating) and the interview with Gordon Lightfoot (who says that his favorite cover version of one of his songs is the Hip's take on "Black Day in July"). Also fun and revealing interviews with Iggy Pop, Alex James of Blur (who knew he was a cheese farmer/columnist now?! Certainly not me until I lheard this interview). This show rivals NPR's "Fresh Air" as radio's best interview show.
