Waiting for new CD to arrive still
#76

Bookhead Wrote:Finally received mine two days ago, but only because I tracked the package on the USPS website and saw that the postal service alledgedly attempted to deliver the CDs on the 15th of April, and left a "notice" that I never saw. The upshot is that I drove over to my local post office and picked it up there. My suggestion to any U.S. fans who have not yet received their CDs from Maple Music, enter the tracking number on the USPS site and see the status of your order. There's a possibility the USPS tried to deliver it to your house and left a "phantom" notice.
I didn't get a tracking number or any shipping notfcation. I only got an order confirmation from them via paypal. BALLS!

knightrider Wrote:Still waiting in PA & getting more & more pissed. What a fiasco. Really kinda tainting my enthusiasm for the new CD & the band in general at this point to be honest. Anyway, sorry to come on here being Debbie Downer, just venting since there's very little else I can do.
How does the band have any control over this?

Got mine today, by the way.

Screw ball - I don't blame the band per se. But in placing this order I did everything right to support them, get my CD promptly, take advantage of a "special offer" for early-birds/ticket-buyers, etc, etc. I used my hard-earned cash to do so. I was pumped to hear new tunes from a favorite band. Instead, due to the failings of their business partners, my enthusiasm is getting challenged by my annoyance with the entire thing at this point. So on a visceral level at least it's hard to make that complete distinction between the band & whoever stands between them & me who screwed this up. That said, I'm sure by the time they take the stage in front of me in a couple weeks, this cluster eff is going to be the furthest thing from my mind. Unless, of course I'm still waiting by then...glad you got yours anyway. Chris

Received my album on vinyl finally. Nice and damaged. Back it goes - hopefully they can get it right the second time. The cover is all wrinkled and dented in one corner and even one of the inner sleeves is ripped on all sides with the second sleeve being ripped on two sides. Sad

FINALLY got my cds in yesterday's mail (Pennsylvania). Now I can stop bitching & try to get my ears around this new record before next week's show. Turns out it was MapleMusic who shipped it (2 weeks late) after I ordered the tix from LiveNation. Never again will I fall for this pre-sale shikanery, I say! You may now return to your regularly scheduled posting & lurking.

Has anybody else received their CD yet???

I am still waiting for mine here in Ajax, Ontario - wondering if I should start calling/writing/demanding my damn CD!!!!

Heading off to Boston for a road trip show this Friday and would have liked to have had the CD playing on the way down!

What a mistake that was ordering it with the tickets - won't do that again.

I know you've already paid for one along with your tickets, but you could always just walk into any HMV, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, or Future Shop and pick up a copy before you head down to Boston for the show.

When are you heading down? Are you going with a bunch of buddies? There are four of us making the drive from Toronto/Hamilton in my group, and I know that hotmetal401 (Pat) is also making the drive.

Hey Chris,

It would be great to join you guys.
However, I work for Air Canada and we get real cheap airfare...so we are going to fly down on Friday (with my wife and 3 kids) and make a fun weekend out of it.

I accidentally bought 3 tickets when I only wanted two...with the purchase of the cd...so my wife and I are going to bring along my 12 year old son! Can't wait for him to hear the Hip live for the very first time.
I can't believe that I was unable to talk my two girls (16 and 19) into going to the show with us - they have no interest!? Their loss.

Can't wait for the show - the show reviews have been stellar!

We did a similar road trip (or air trip) to see them in the Hampton Beach Casino (New Hamshire) two summers ago. I estimate thatthere were abouut 500 to 800 in the casino - awesome show!
It was at that show that my wife proclaimed that she had been "Hippified"...hopefully it will be my son's turn!

Have fun at the show!

Cheers,
Scott

Not that any of this is my freakin' business, but using the real cheap airfare savings from the Air Canada gig (I don't think a plane trip counts as a road trip), why not spend the $15.99 on the CD so you have it now and when the pre-order one finally arrives, give the extra one to your son and say "remember that time we took you to Boston ... now go change your life and memorize to this CD, and when you can do all 9 minutes of The Depression Suite, you can take a sping through the back catalogue!"

enjoy the show!!

Yes it does count as a roadie when you got three kids and a wife, it counts until the youngest is 18 and can appreciate a Hip Road Trip. And I am jealous of your cheap airfare. My buddy works for an airline - and damn that is a nice perk.

Great idea Mr. Tanz.

O.K. O.k. I will go out and buy another CD!!!
It still pisses me off that Maple Music (or whoever) didn't at least have these CD's ready to ship on the release day and send them all out on that day.
I felt like I was somehow supporting the band in my little way by buying the CD with my tickets. I realize now that I would have been supporting them just the same by buying the CD at Best Buy on the release day and would have had the pleasure of listening to it in my car for the last 4 weeks! Oh well....support the band and buy another copy!
I really can't wait for the Live From The Vault CD to show up in my mail box with WATS!

As for the cheap airplane seats - once the band announces some Europe dates...thats when the real road trip planning happens...but no kids for that trip!!

^ That's ridiculous that you still haven't gotten the cd. I wrote them a strongly worded email a week after the release date as mine hadn't arrived. Coincidentally it was in my mailbox that day...
