I'm making my (local) radio debut...
#1

This Sunday I'm appearing on one of BBC radio's regional programmes. It's a new music show and each week they have a panel of 'experts' pass judgement on a bunch of demo CDs. This week they've asked me to be on the panel. It's kinda weird but very exciting too. The DJ is Canadian too, so I'm on a mission to shoehorn a Hip reference in!

That's awesome! Same question as Chris, as well, how did you get hooked up with this review thing?

Chris - you can listen IF the BBC iPlayer works outside the UK, unfortunately I'm at work and can't check.

Billy - to be honest, it started by accident. I reviewed a gig for local press and it kind of snowballed from there!

edit: sorry about the big 'IF' there Chris... I couldn't make my phone do italics. I can't find out whether this will be available for streaming abroad. This page might work though: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p001d7kh

edit: ignore that, things aren't as bad as first feared... anyone who read this post before I deleted it, apologies for my histrionics.

Well, now you have gotten me curious.
What happened that had you in an uproar?

Some very bad news in the family... I nearly had to cancel.

I failed with the Hip reference, but I did have an off air conversation about Wintersleep...

Unfortunately this was only regional BBC, covering three counties and on a sunday evening, hardly a prime time for listeners. But it was a good first experience and I've already been invited back, so hopefully if I keep plugging something might happen.

Who were played on the Jo Wiley Show on Friday I believe....

Still picking up the elderly from the floor, still dealing with the drunks, now wrestling seals and posting it on twitter.. @richardilderton
