So to sum this all up; all the theaters haven't been announced yet?

Now now. Let's keep this tasteful, sirs.

I thought all the dates had been announced too. I guess I misunderstood that link that was posted earlier. I hope there's one in Ottawa so I can check it out (not bitching, just stating a fact) I REALLY want to see this but not so much as to make a roadtrip out of it.

Total speculation on my part. Just wanted to share that link after I spotted it.

From the random searches I did on that link, it seemed hard to believe there were 80 theaters listed. And I might be imagining things, but I think there are more Toronto listings now (3) than there were a few hours ago (1). But I have no actual clue and should probably just let MAv do his job.

This is all true.

However you may be forgetting that Radiohead also did a similar thing. For free. Then they gave those videos to iTunes....for free.

It may not have been on a giant screen but far more people watched it than they would have had it been a theatre show.

Hey - I'm not 'bitching' that they won't be showning the thing over here. Obviously that's not going to happen. Would be nice to see said film at some point though, and if we don't - hey, what the fuck. We'll get to see the band in person in nice, small venues over here at some point soon no doubt. That'll be enough. Big Grin :thumb:

looks like london got the show at silver city, cool! those scene points will come in handy after all, I just might end up with this album for free.

Radiohead also did an IMAX show for HTTT, with comparable ticket prices to the Hip.

Damn, could you imagine how big Gord's banana would be in IMAX 3D.

It still seems that the closest show to the maritimes is:

Cineplex Odeon Brossard
9350 Boul. Leduc, Brossard

Well, I will hope for some DVD release in the future. Enjoy the show everyone who is attending!

Again, before getting upset or pouty, or in a snit, let's wait until the list is posted on thehip.com.

Remember, if it's not playing in a theater near you this is not The Hip going for a personal insult against you. It can't play in any theater. I think it's cool that they're doing something like this. They've going down a lot of new roads these days. And that's exciting!

Now, if the band shows up at your house and tells you they don't like you and don't want you to see this and that's why it's not playing in a theater near you then I'd say that's a good reason to start "bitchin". Unless they give you a valid reason, of course.
