Why is everyone in a snit about this considering the list hasn't been released? The email, and the info on thehip.com say, "Stay tuned for a full list of over 80 participating theatres across the country." Just because it's not on the Cineplex site yet doesn't mean SFA.

Let's just all show up at the Bathouse. If there are 50 of us who show up it would be rude for them not to let us in. I'll bring 20 bucks and some money for pizza. I'll even drive Downie home if he gets too fucked up.

p.s. They've assembled quite a cast...

The Tragically Hip - LIVE from the Bathouse (Presented in HD)
Genre: Music
Release Date: 4/6/2009
Running Time: 1h30m
Cast: Gord Sinclair, Gordon Downie, Rob Baker, Paul Langlois, Johnny Fay

It's all SULLIVAND's fault for putting this up

Why couldn't the Hip just do this special on the CBC? Economic times are tough enough as it is for the common person. It just seems that every email announcement has something to do with them making money. I've lost a lot of respect for them. And it sounds like Im not the only one. Maybe Downie still has a mortgage on that small little property of his in The County.

Oh man here we go again. Last time I checked we all get paid for working and we would not work for free. Just because this is entertainment it is no different, actors, athletes all make lots of money the good thing is we don't need to go to any of this if we don't want to. Why should the Hip be any different and not get paid. Confusedcratch:

This particular event sounds pretty good you get the CD and the show for $21 and change.

I hope the power goes out in Bath that night.
I dont think the Hip do anything for free. Yes they have a right to be paid. I think they have done fairly well for themselves. Who knows, maybe the green fees went up this year at the CAT.

I for one will gladly pay $20 to see 1.5 hours of the Hip on the Big Screen rather than paying $0 to see them for 1 hour minus commercials on the small screen. This is something new and exciting. If you don't like it, you don't have to go.

What's with all the negativity of late? On the one hand, people are bitching that they're doing this at all, and on the other they're bitching that it's not playing at a nearby theatre (or in the States, or the UK, etc. etc.)! How about this: if you deem it worth going (weighing all the pros and cons, including cost, travel time, philosophy of it, missing a Blue Jays game etc.), then you go. If you don't, then don't. You don't need to tell us the reasons why you aren't going (though it's nice to know I'll have room to put my feet up).
