This is a Really bad year for coaches in general. Between the NHL, NFL, & the NBA, there are a lot of people looking for work out there...

The 4-2 win over the Habs was pretty sweet, I'm not gonna lie! :jump :jump

There could be another coaching fatality shortly too...it wouldn't surprise me a bit if Tom Renney is go next. I think Renney is a good coach & has done a great job during his tenure in NY, but coaches have a short life span in the NHL, and Renney has been in the Rangers organization now for 9+ years, and has been the head coach for 4. The 10-2 loss to Dallas last week was embarrassing...i missed yesterdays loss to the Flyers (which they were trailing 5-0 at one point)...and now yet another loss today to the Blues in which their league worst offense managed just 1 goal, from a 3rd line rookie no less, who's been the only one scoring recently (Lauri Korpikoski).

They only have 1 win in their last 8 games, and are now only 2 points ahead of 8th place Buffalo, and 5 points ahead of 9th place Carolina...both of whom have games in hand on the Rangers. Their powerplay is pathedic (i swear, they give up more short handed goals against then they do powerplay goals for), their offense is dead last (30th), they are actually a minus teams on the season (144 goals for, 162 goals against)....I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was let go tomorrow.

I'm a little disappointed the Habs gave away a second and third round draft pick for Mathieu Schneider, who's a -10 and only has 15 points this year. He's certainly not going to be the one who pushes them over the edge. I would have liked to have seen them go after Kaberle although Burke would never deal him to the Habs, or Bouwmeester.

simply, yes they do. And they no longer have the excuse of not having Whitney/Gonchar anymore. Actually, they were doing better without them...

On the other hand, the sens have now won four in a row!
And now...a loss to the Islanders!!!

I'm really getting sick of watching the rangers lose. What the heck is going on??? How the hell do you lose to St. Louis?!?!?!? Where is that winning punch we saw at the beginning of the season. Just look at their roster. How do you lose with a team like this?!?!?!?!

Gomez
Drury
Naslund
Zherdev
Dubinsky
Redden
Rozsival

I'm pretty sure the Habs recieved a conditional pick along with Schneider from the Thrashers.

They're all either past their prime or were never any good to begin with...

That was some save by Kipper!

F**k I hate shootouts. What a crappy way to end a hockey game. Thank god they don't have them in the playoffs, because the Flames are terrible in them. I still say Calgary has the division pretty much wrapped up at this point. But since they couldn't hang onto the damn lead with 50 seconds left in the game, they've unfortunately left the door open a crack for Vancouver to possibly catch them. Stupid Flames!

:nooooo

Wish I could find a video of that ridiculously awesome stick save that Kipper made in the 3rd. I'll post it here if I can find it.

I hate shootouts, too, but WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! BIG WIN BABY!!!!! :jump :jump

I predicted a 5-3 win, it was 4-3. I almost nailed it. Big Grin

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :jump :jump

BTW, I'm going on record now and stating a FACT--- ALEX KOVALEV IS THE MOST OVERRATED PLAYER IN THE HISTORY OF THE NHL. It's sickening hearing player after player talk about how awesome he is when he wants to play. The fact of the matter is that he has had maybe three or four notable years. They keep making excuses for the guy. At his best, he NEVER had a 100 point season ,but the way some former players and some analysts talk about him, he could have 60 goals and 140 points if he only tried. That's pure bullsh*t, plain and simple. "Most talented guy I've ever seen" is what I've heard from numerous ex players. Oh, really? So, I guess none of those guys saw Jagr, Forsberg, Lemieux, Gretzky, etc.....the list goes on and on. I mean, the guy had 84 points last season and he was being called a superstar.  What a joke. :nooooo
