Hey, I was watching Macroscopic and The Right Whale (Those songs NEED to be released on an EP) and at the beginning of "What does Ummm Mean" I think Gord says "Love is a Curse" and goes off into this beuatiful poem and I was thinking that maybe we'll hear it in about 50 days.

I don't know where I'm going with this.

I'm in Ottawa where Jim Bryson is also from. Through "friends of friends" I've heard he's gone to T.O. to begin rehearsals with the band. Am I 100% sure - no. But, I'm pretty confident that the info is accurate.

Remember, Bryson has toured with Kathleen Edwards so maybe that's where the connection started with the Hip.

They did say to stay tuned for tour news. I hope that they do the little venues like they did right after the release of WC. After seeing so many Hip shows, I don't think I'll be going to any arena shows or festivals.
For us Hardcores, I hope they stick to venues that allow for no more than 600-800 fans. Play the album, and not the stereotypical "classics"...

Interesting that they went with Rounder Records for the U.S. release. I specifically remember an interview with Robby a couple of years ago in which he complained about Rounder not doing enough to promote "In Violet Light" or "In Between Evolution" when those albums came out on the label. They ended up ditching Rounder and switching to the American branch of Universal for the release of "World Container". And now they're back working with Rounder again? Weird.

I am not sure how accurate it is, but 97.7 out of Southern Ontario just said the new single goes to radio February 27, the same day tour dates will be announced.

And as a side note - Umphrey's McGee is doing someting I wish The Hip would look into:

Ok, so i have heard Morning Moon on the radio a few times now (K-rock in Kingston is playing it). I don't know how I feel about it yet, I really can't get into it myself.

At one time the Hip were a new band, I still perfectly remember hearing Blow and New Orleans and having to go out and buy the CD..............all I do know is, if this was a new single from a new band on the radio, it wouldn't make me run out to get their CD like it did the first time I heard them. If anything it probably would have made me turn the station..........I know bands sound evolve, but I am missing the old Hip........

Don't get me wrong, i am still a hug fan, but this song really doesn't do anything for me and it makes me wonder what is in store with the new CD..........I really hope it comes out and proves me wrong.

Let me clarify something for everyone here.

Morning Moon is not the first single. It is a song that is simply being streamed from thehip.com as a preview of the new album.

The first single will be Love Is A First.
