Just listened to this show on thehip.com ... WOW
Incredible recording... Amazing set list ... Not only is Gordie rambling like it was the early 90's, but the band sounds beautiful
Here's the only bad part - some how, this show has eluded me until now... I think I have downloaded 200 or so shows (im not at my external hard drive so I cant check) but I have never had a ton of shows from 2000 maybe only 10 or less...
Chris can we get this recording up the tracker - it's too good

My thoughts is that I really wonder what happened to the Hip's live show in 2002 because its got nothing on how awesome these 2000 shows are. In fact, I'd say only until WC did they really get back into form. A shame that the DVD was a recording of a 2004 show.
That said, the hip at their worst is still better than most bands at their best.

Well, I was actually at this show and have had a pretty solid audience recording of it from the incomparable Stephen Brown since shortly after the date. It was a special night in the Aggie. Overall though, my feeling is that the two shows I saw on the "Evening With" tour (this one and the very next night 50 miles south in Denver) pale in comparison to the IVL shows I saw. Denver #2 (08.07.02) and Phoenix (08.10.02) were even better than Ft. Collins. But this soundboard recording of Ft. Collins is incredible.
When the IVL tour came around I took in as much as I could knowing that the next time the boys came to town, I'd be a dad. Since the end of the IVL tour I've had three kids and road-tripping for TTH shows is no longer a viable option. To be pretty honest, I kind of feel like I jumped at the right time. The recordings I've heard of the IBE and WC tours just don't hold up to IVL and further back in my opinion, which is a real surprise since I feel that those two records are the pinnacle of the catalogue.

I was at both IVL shows in Toronto and have the recording of both shows... Also, I have recordings from about 20 IVL shows and from about 15 "An Evening with the Tragically Hip" Tour shows. Personally, both set list wise and performance wise there is no comparison... The shows from 2000 blew anything from IVL out of the fucking water...
Firstly, they played 30 SONG SET LISTS. Secondly, they busted out a wide array of gems almost every night, something they have not done since. Also, what I liked most about the tour is how they never played their new album in full every night. Not to mention the fact, that despite what many believe, I think Music At Work is an incredible album. Tiger the Lion, Lake Fever, Stay, Toronto #4, Putting Down, The Bastard, The Bear, The Completists, Train Overnight, are all songs that should be included as much as possible todays Hip shows. Not to say that IVL wasn't just as good if not better as an album, but often people rip apart Music At Work and I think front to back it is a masterpiece.

I have about 100 shows I have not put on my webpage yet so I am kinda disorganized right now.
I know I got a couple shows from Mr. McCabe and Mr. Brown - I'll have to check. Maybe even a DVD.

Well, I'm not certain I'd be the best source for that audience recording. I know the show's available in a lossless-compression format somewhere online, I'm just not recalling where. I have it in MP3 format now and that's it. I converted it to MP3 for my own personal purposes and use and have not distributed it in that format.
It's around though, don't worry. I'd be surprised if it wasn't on the FTP site that Jerremy Jones has. If he no longer has that, then I apologize - I'm not nearly as "in the loop" on this sort of thing as I used to be.
