To those in the Buffalo area:
I highly recommend checking out Yonder Mountain String Band on June 12.
If you remotely enjoy bluegrass, it's an absolute must-see. If you've haven't really heard much bluegrass and aren't sure if you dig it, this would be a perfect opportunity to give it a try.
YMSB is comprised of young but extremely competant musicians. There are no slouches amongst the four. Their performances are extremely upbeat, and their style tends to incorporate some rock influence, so their act isn't particularly 'traditionalist' and is definitely not "old-timey"-sounding bluegrass....they always tear it up. Chances are good that they will cover a rock song or two...like Marley, Stones, Floyd, J.J. Cale, etc...and perhaps a classic country-western number. It's just a fun concert to attend.
Though it will be heavy on hippes....so a heads-up on that.....
If they only played the week after, I would consider going myself!
