A veteran(esc) goalie to back up Price would be useful for next season. I do not see Carey going wire to wire without a few lapses and a solid netvet could help steady and step-in when needed. The Habs will not be surprising anyone in 2008/09, teams will turn it up a notch when they play.
or trade the Vancouver boy playing in Montreal for the Montreal garçon playing in Vancouver... :what

Huet got beat by the same flyers the PRice did...so i'd go with the younger, more promising of the two any day, especially when you throw that draft pick in there...unlike a lot of teams, Montreal is quite good at drafting players who pay-off for them.

It's definitely going to be interesting to see what the Flyers do if/when Malkin starts his slew footing.

C'mon boys, its 2am! After watching the game for so long, you don't want to go to bed.
Especially if you wake up the next day and realize had you just have waited about 90 seconds, you could have seen the goal.
At least there's lots of OT action. Stars seem to have a bit more muscle at this point though.

I thought the Rangers/Pens series was a lot closer than the final 4-1 indicates! It's disappointing from a Rangers fan perspective...they led 3-0 in game 1, had all the momentum in game 3 when it was tied 2-2 until Ryan Hollweg took a bad penalty & Malkin scored the game winner, were one bounce away from winning yesterdays game, etc.
The Penguins are a heck of a hockey team though & they deserved to win. Evgeni Malkin was great in that series.
I stayed up last night until about midway through the 3rd OT period before falling asleep. The 1st overtime was very entertaining, and that save by Evgeni Nabokov on Brad Richards was sick. Richards had 3 glorius chances to win it, and Mike Riberio had a pair of prime opportunities as well.
And how about that hit by Brendan Morrow!! Hopefully Michalek is ok.

It's going to be a very interesting summer in Ranger land, with pretty well every key veteran aside from Gomez & Drury UFA's...Jaromir Jagr, Martin Straka, Michael Rozsival, Brendan Shanahan, Sean Avery, Paul Mara, Marek Malik, etc. My gut feeling is that Shanahan won't be back. Paul Mara & Marek Malik are as good as gone. I think (and hope) Jaromir Jagr comes back for 2 or 3 more years with the Rangers...and i hope Straka comes back for at least another year, especially if Jagr resigns. I'm really not sure about Michael Rozsival & Sean Avery. Word is Rozsival will be looking for about $5 million per, and Avery in the $4+ range.

Just a thoroughly entertaining game last night. And I gotta say, I really like Chris Cuthbert's play-by-play calling. I think he and Hughson are the best ones going right now.
I also love the idea of professional hockey players mowing down on pizza in the OT intermissions.
One thing is for certain, Marty Turco has left behind his playoff choker baggage. While Nabokov had the save of the playoffs, Turco has outplayed the other goalie for three consecutive playoff series (counting last year's series against Vancouver). Should be interesting to see if he can maintain it against Detroit.
