I wouldn't mind taking in a Collective Soul set.
Its just no Hip.
Holy I'm pumped...
Last time The Hip rocked the Waterfront, they had just a crazy / awesome setlist!!
blow at high dough
yer not the ocean
my music at work
it can't be nashville everynight
lake fever
daredevil
lionized
sherpa
springtime in vienna
giftshop
the dire wolf
at the hundredth meridian
something on
last of the unplucked gems
ahead by a century
grace, too
fire in the hole
the lonely end of the rink
bobcaygeon
poets
And it will be exactly two year to the sate after that show!
Sorry, I'm just giddy like a school girl. Hip show #10, here I come!

I'll have to get re-acquainted with Collective Soul.
(And now for an extreme Canadiana reference) I'm afraid my only exposure to them was Big Shiny Tunes 2.
I think I know every song off of Big Shiny Tunes 2 by heart!
Anybody have an Collective Soul recommendations?
(aside from this of course)

my g/f loves collective soul so i kind of have to by default(much like her and the hip) we have seen them 4 or 5 times now...they aren`t too bad...last show we saw had some ac/dc jams if you can believe it. i`d recommend their s/t and precious declaration albums. i know you will be more familiar than 1 song, they actually have had quite a few hits over the years

I'm a huge CS fan, I would recommend the self titled (blue) album to anyone and everyone. Haven't seen them since Childress left/was kicked out of the band, but they were incredible when I did see them. I'm actually quite jealous of this CS/Hip double bill.

Collective Soul are one of my alltime favorite bands, and i've stoked to finally have the chance to see them live! Yeah Sean, i definitely recommend the self titled album "Collective Soul", it's one of my favorites!
I didn't figure i'd take in the Festival of Lights this year since i already have tickets for George Thorogood, Alice Cooper/Econoline Crush, The Eagles/John Fogerty/Sam Roberts, and with rumors of the Black Crowes & Tom Petty possibly playing the Maritimes...but this is great. The Hip & Collective Soul back 2 back. I doubt i'll go to either of the first two nights though, though i wouldn't mind seeing OLP again.

A friend from work was driving me to Halifax yesterday and she was like guess who is coming....
Then she rattled off all of the other bands and I was like yeah, uh huh, cool, yeah........
Then she was like "I'm pretty sure the Hip are going too." I was doubtful. Now I'm pumped. I'll just have to drink a lot less this time. I got pretty fucked up at the last Festival of Lights.
