Depends what's on it and if there are multiple different versions.

I don't think anyone could answer that without knowing what was included in the bonus disk unless, ofcourse, they're the type of fan who would buy anything the band released.

They're the hip. Come on, how can a B-Side be bad with their quality of catalogue?

Pretty sure if we're big enough fans to be on here almost every day, we're big enough fans to buy the biggest and best of anything the boys release

On the other hand... ...we're not the biggest target market for The Hip. I think if put in the position, it would be hard for any hardcore Hipfan to make a serious business decision for the Hip.
I would love for a deluxe edition of an album or ten. From a hipfan perspective, its an awesome idea. From a business perspective, who knows.

I would much prefer the extra tracks be released as stand-alone digital downloads, or saved for a later "b-sides" release. With respect to multiple versions of the same album, I don't mind it as long as both versions are released on the same day - none of this re-release bullsh*t months (or years) later. Nothing like screwing your hardcore fans who bought your album the first day it came out by making them pay for the same songs all over again, just to get a couple new ones. Also bad are the "special edition" albums that are just fancier packaging and don't contain an extra audio or video content - Radiohead's Hail to the Thief comes to mind as an example.

I am so frustrated with that happening(mostly with dvd). It's such an obvious money-grab, you feel like a sucker paying for either. I can understand trying to rekindle the sales of a title, but it always feels like a slap in the face. As long as they expect piracy to be higher for second releases, let them continue.

Now, when it comes to the Hip, I would buy any official release, despite how redundant. Although I doubt the hip would ever do anything like that.

I would, but I would have to buy both. The "real" version and the "give us your money" version.

Of course, if the B-sides were available for purchase seperately, I would buy the "regular" version and just the B-sides as singles or whatever on iTunes.

Another scenario: The Hip pull a Billy Corgan Zeitgeist and release 4 different versions of their next record, and I boycott it completely.

Of course, I wouldn't expect the Hip, a class act for the last 20+ years, to screw their fans in this manner. Offering two different versions isn't like options on a car. I prefer the "one size fits all" idea.
