Thank you Carolina Hurricanes!!!!
If the Greasers had won, I think I might have jumped off a bridge. Here in Calgary we never would've heard the end of it, so I'm glad they lost.
Rivalries aside though, I thought the Oil had a great run and their city should be proud of them. They reminded me a lot of the Flames in '04, right down to losing a close one on the road in game 7. One thing's for sure, the Battle of Alberta is gonna be VERY interesting next year. Bring on the new season!

Well, a good run by both teams. As a Canadian I would have preferred the Oilers to take home the cup, but as a fan of the game, I'm glad it was won on home ice by a fairly small market team. Of course, now that the new season is just beyond the horizon, I'm going to be the first to throw it out...
Go Sens Go...
And if the Jays can overtake the Sox and Yanks, and find their way into the ALCS, and ultimately the World Series, that would be good too.

No one has any idea how crushed I am......
I mean.... except for fans of the 94' Canucks
but I am devastated.
the final wasn't the only thing, but 2006 has been a terrible year for me, and the Oil losing is just another mark on the post.
I shall cry again.

I think I just heard a guy in Kamloops laughing his ass off..
Sorry bout your luck douglas, I hate it when all my sports teams have bad years at the same time, its depressing.

Ya know, it's that damn Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda line that kills every team. They play great all year and that damn line just funnels in the clutch. I do believe they were traded real quick from the Sabres to the Oilers between rounds. Fuckers. They ruin everything.
