DBT Tour Dates
#1

I love how quickly these guys crank out albums. I'm still disappointed that Jason Isbell left the band, but I'm sure the new record will kick ass regardless. Check it out:

And here's a song by song write up:

Nice. Can't wait to hear it. I wish they'd tour anywhere close so I could check out a live show, sounds like they put on a hell of a show.

I hear ya. Their "Live at the 40 Watt" DVD is as close to a Truckers show as I've gotten. I'd step over my own mother to see these guys live.

They will do an extensive tour with this album, which I hear is a double album??

I saw them in Toronto last time through and it was amazing, hopefully they will make it out west for you guys.

I picked up the new album at lunch today. I'm only about 8 songs in and I'm really enjoying it so far. It sounds like bass player Shonna Tucker has taken over Jason Isbell's role as the 3rd songwriter. I'll post more thoughts after I've had a chance to fully absorb the record. At 19 songs, this thing's a monster!

Just came across this cool interview with Patterson Hood. It's a long one. Enjoy!

It you like DBT, try Lucero (not the latin singer). They are from I believe Memphis and put a real good show on. They play the SE quite a bit as I usually see them 3 or 4 times a year. They also, what I think, do a killer live cover of Jawbreaker's "Kiss the Bottle".

Other Tracks that I would recommend other than the previous:

"Sad and Lonley" and "Tears don't matter much" off That Much Further West
"Nights like These" "Sweet Little Thing" off Tennesee
"The Weight of Guilt and "1979" off Rogues, Rebels and Sworn Brothers
"Sixteen" and "And we Fell" off "Nobody's Darlings

They also have a DVD called "Dreaming in America" about life on the road 200+ nights which documents the struggle for a band.

As far as DBT, it is close to impossible to get tix here in ATL as they usually sell out quickly but I am trying to plan a road trip to Asheville to see them at the Orange Peel as friends said the venue is real good to see a band and the Truckers sound real good there

Y'ALL:

We are thrilled to announce another leg of THE HOME FRONT WORLD TOUR 2008

Now we're ready to go ahead and announce shows for June.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

SWEEEEEEEEET

I'm a little disapointed I never saw them with Jason Isbell, but I'm all over this show. I wonder where they will play. I looked up the festival and it takes place at various venues around town.....also playing the festival is Elliot Brood, who I saw open or Corb Lund a couple of years back...worth checking out as well

Great band. Just got turned on to them this winter. Been listening to lots of their 2008 shows on archive.org. Seems like a tour worth hitting if you're anywhere close.

They are not the same without him that's for sure, but still great none the less

I've never seen them live, so I'm really looking forward to the Calgary show. The festival hasn't announced the official schedule yet, but I know they're playing the outdoor main stage.
