Propaganda [from modern Latin: 'propagare', "extending forth"] is a concerted set of messages aimed at influencing the opinions or behavior of large numbers of people. Instead of impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience. The most effective propaganda is often completely truthful, but some propaganda presents facts selectively to encourage a particular synthesis, or gives loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the cognitive narrative of the subject in the target audience.

As a longtime lurker, I'm simply astounded that one could dedicate 7 out of their 10 posts into pushing some libertarian anarcho-capitalist nutcase here...

Back on subject, it'd be awesome if we could see a video of this. Incidentally, I laughed when I read Hillary was using that Celine song since I generally associate it with Air Canada ads.

Tim --

We just won Iowa, and I'm about to head down to talk to everyone.

Democrats turned out in record numbers tonight, and independents and even some Republicans joined our party to stand together for change.

Thank you for everything you've done to make this possible.

Barack

Yeah, It's just an email from my boy Barack. Nice of him to hit me up before he went down to kick it with our peeps.

All I can say is that hearing Barack Obama speak yesterday actually made me, a Canadian, united, with the United Sates of America. Mr. Obama delivered a riveting speech and definitely turned me on to him if I was not already.

This man would actually make me happy and proud to be an American if that were so the case, but Im not, so thats a mute point. Nevertheless, I know that if I were an American citizen and based on all of the thoughts and beliefs of the parties and leaders, that Mr. Obama would definitely have my vote.

Obama for President 2008

Can I just throw in my two cents that I find it extremely depressing that Canadians seem to be generally more excited about these American elections than Americans.

I think many Americans are paying attention. Only Iowans have had a chance to actually prove that point, and they turned out in record numbers. As for the mix of comments here -- well, this is a forum for a Canadian rock band. I just see it as a sign that there may be a candidate or two who can help restore the U.S. image beyond our borders.

Now ... back to In View and Obama. Where's the video? I'm ready to call BS.
