The NFL Thread-->Wimps need not enter!

tigerthelion Wrote:2. Big matchup (duh, obviously!) this week between the Pats and Cowboys. And I never, ever thought I would have said this ever in my life, but... GO COWBOYS!

How'd that matchup work out for the Cowboys? Confusedhock:

Are you a Pats fan or something? Yeah, obviously it didn't work well for the Cowboys (although they did have the lead for a short time, people forget this).

Anyway, I guess now it's Armageddon, otherwise known as New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts next Sunday. And I will be cheering so hard for the Colts it will be unbelievable. The Patriots represent what's bad about the game... running up the score, poor sportsmanship in celebrating a touchdown to put them up 45-0 ( Confusedhock: ), a classless, cheating coach... while the Colts represent what's good about the game... players who win with class, a coach who is a genuinely good human being who has perspective about the game and about life. The Patriots are the big bad bully, and I LOVE seeing bullies get their deserved come-uppance.

Oh, and the Detroit Lions are 5-2 right now. Just thought I'd throw that out there. :thumb:

A "trap game" with the only undefeated team in the NFC?

And considering the Pats next game after the Cowboys game is against the 0 and 5 Dolphins, I'm guessing tiger doesn't really understand what "trap game" means.

I know when I see pathetic excuses from fans. That much I do know. :rambo:

So, you don't actually know what it means.....but you know it is pathetic. Confusedcratch:

I don't have any problem whatsoever with professional teams "running up the score".

If you don't want to get embarrassed 45-0, then don't suck so freaking bad.

A pretty good game today with the Colts and Pats. Who knows. Could have went the other way if Harrison was playing. At least it was entertaining.

p.s. Lizard, love the aviatar, as always!

thank ya, (i assume you meant the leaf/hab one, i just changed it..)

not a bad game, Im glad the Pats won, Im not really a Colts fan. You have to admire Brady, he is mr.comeback, they are never out of a game till the final whistle.

It was a very good game, the Pats/Colts contest, I was very disappointed to see the Pats prevail. It got my blood boiling to see that smug Belichick smiling at the end and of course nearly blowing off Tony Dungy completely... very classy as usual.

You have to hand it to the Pats though, they did the job and did what they had to do to win. They did show that they are not a machine, however... they are vulnerable. And even though the rematch which will probably happen in the AFC Championship game will be at New England, Indy is mentally tougher than ever and can win, especially if Marvin Harrison and the other players missing on defense can return healthy and performing at their peak. I'm not ready to crown the Pats as champs just yet! :rambo:

Oh... and I don't wish to alarm anyone, but the Detroit Lions are 6-2!!

And the Pats could have won by two scores if the refs were not completely incompetant.

Actually, I think the Dolphins are the worst team in the league and I'm hoping that they go winless. Quite a dumb thing for them to do, taunt the Bills players that they were going to lose to the Dolphins with time still on the clock....

Favre set a Green Bay record with 20 consecutive completions and finished with a season-high 381 yards and three touchdowns in the Packers' 37-26 victory over the slumping Detroit Lions.

"I threw it. They caught it," he said simply. "Nothing spectacular."

Yeah, right.

The three-time MVP put together another sensational performance that made the 38-year-old quarterback look as if he's back in his prime. Favre's seventh 300-yard game of the season matched a team mark he set in 1995.

"He's the greatest ever," Lions quarterback Jon Kitna said.

Green Bay (10-1) matched its best 11-game record since 1929, set previously in '62, and the NFC North leaders have a four-game lead with five games left in the regular season.
