I think you will be sadly disappointed when you see the pricetag. I'm guessing it'll be somewhere in the ballpark of $599.99 with a 3-year contract commitment...if not more.

I'm sure other limitations will surface over time, but it seems like they missed out on the GPS on your cell phone phenomenon. Although they do have google maps which is pretty damn cool...especially the SAT images.

For someone that doesn't have an iPod yet, when you start to think about what you are actually getting for the price that they set (TBD), if it was $600, then I don't believe that would be unreasonable.

Of course, I will never be able to afford one but what does that matter!

Apple removed the contract requirement in the US. As well, everyone balked at the cost of iPods yet they've managed to move 100,000,000 units.

Just that Apple no longer require users to sign a multi-year contract in order to get an iPhone. As far as I've read, the price is still to be finalized.

But the monthly plans are pretty reasonable:

$59.99 for 450 minutes
$79.99 for 900 minutes
$99.99 for 1,350 minutes

All three plans include unlimited data, Visual Voicemail, 200 SMS text messages, roll-over minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling.

Why are phone plans everywhere else so much better than here?

i know here in the U.S. the price was between $400- $ 500 with a 2 yr contract with ATT the only service provider so far

Thanks chris. :thumb: I'm having "issues" with vodaphone at the moment though, after I had an £1,100 fraudulent phone bill turn up at my house from them last week...
