This might be a short thread but are The Hip name-dropped in anyone else's songs?
The only example I know of is the song Crabbuckit by K-OS.

I've often thought about including a hidden Hip reference in one of my songs (I know its small time..lol) but it hasn't happened yet.

thats fucked that you made that Sloan connection, for years I have always associated that line with how I feel about the hip...... weird.....I wonder which band they are really taking about though.

The new Matt Good song drops the phrase 'day for night' several times... maybe he's just referencing the cinematic term just as the Hip did.

By no means am I a fan of BareNakedLadies, I am refering to the band not the visual, but I think they named their Album Gordon after the slew of iconic Canadian Gords in the music biz.......downie, lightfoot etc......I think i remember reading this in the liner notes when I was a wee guy.
