Blew my mind.
I just walked into the warehouse here at work.
The guys out there usually listen to "hip-hop" "pop" whatever you want to call it.
Gwen Stefani just ended and In View came on.
Damn strange to hear The Hip on a radio station better known for Stefani, Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.

My Music At Work

We were doing some water sports out on the lake, when I saw a Malibu Speedboat tear down the shoreline. They were blasting My Music At Work out of a pumpin' stereo system. Made my day!

A couple of weekends ago I was riding my bike home from my buddies house after a Sabres victory. (drunk bike riding is fun)
I get about three quarters of the way home and all of the sudden I hear Hip blasting out of this house - Live Between Us.
It is about 1 or so in the morning so I stop my bike on the sidewalk and just start enjoying the music in front of the house.
WOOF WOOF WOOF - a dog starts barking and scares the crap out of me - it sounding like it was coming right at me.
I started peddling as fast as I could and got out of there.

I actually heard Luv Sic in Best Buy, believe it or not.

And on a totally unrelated note, I recently heard "Black Star" by Radiohead in a Sport Chek for you Yorke fans.

Waiting in the Montreal airport yesterday (if you fly WestJet you can sit in a bar and drink while watching the final boarding call from Gate 47 and then slip onto the plane at the very last min… 8)

and what should come on the radio - 100th , very appropriate considering I was heading back to Winnipeg….

KITH "Brain Candy" is in the HBO rotation. Was at Circuit City and this movie was on with "Butts Wigglin'" playing in the background of the movie and more Americans were unwittingly exposed to the Hip!

Was just watching the woman's final of The French Open on NBC and they played about 5 seconds of Ocean going to a commercial. Cool.

Yesterday, 11 June, 2006, Halifax International Airport: On my way home from PEI after a friend's wedding. Hung over as balls. Get through customs and have time for a single last Canadian beer before getting on the plane. Bobcaygeon starts to play in the lounge and I just about start to cry. It was like I was in a cheesy movie (with a grand soundtrack).

My friend's prom party (which I was invited too). There is video evidence of me trying to change the music to the hip almost every ten minutes.

The best part is, no one would notice the change...and just keep dancing to the same beat.

Got this e-mail today from a friend in Phoenix. Classic:
Quote:Lunchtime, head to Safeway to pick up a sandwich and a drink. Crusing around the store, minding my own business when I think my mind starts playing tricks on me. I think to myself, do I really hear the Hip over the PA system in a f*(&^% Safeway? I walk down an aisle in quieter part of the store, and sure enough I hear.............. "couldn't come at a woooooorrrrrrssssssssseeeeeee time" I am thinking to myself, "wtf is going on here?" How did this happen? Maybe I shop at the coolest safeway in the land, or the Hip got some good coin to get on the safeway top40.
