Fully was the first one I bought but DFN really hit me. It was/is so haunting and dry sounding but so different from what I was listening to at the time. Plus this was the first tour I saw them. 9-10 thousand strong at the old "Aud". I really "GOT" it that night. Damn I love this album.

For me it would be DFN and TATHH. I just moved to Lynchburg Va when DFN came out and I really needed something that reminded me of home or at least something close to home.
Also when TATHH came out, The hip toured the SE al ot. Since Lynchburg was the home of Jerry Fallwell (RIP) the town was real conservative and pretty boring for a mid twenties single guy. I traveled to just about every show within a 5 hr driving limit. A lot of the shows I would leave work, see the show and drive back just getting to back to work on time with no sleep.
In these travels, I got to meet most of the guys in Chapel Hill after the show. I ran into Paul in a phone bank at a Holiday Inn in Raleigh as I was looking for the address of the club (Mapquest /Internet are much more handy now). I also can be heard yelling random things on live recording at a Rocafella's show in Columbia SC that I dl'ed from Napster.
Just thinking of these are bringing a smile to me as they remind me of simpler times of my life.

WORLD CONTAINER...definatel...so much has happened in my life since i first heard in view...i don't even know wher i'd be without this album...i love you hip, and hip fans alike!

Hmmm... tough choice...
I guess I'd choose Phantom Power... the 2 shows I went to during that tour embodied two different experiences, one very much similar to Escape is at Hand (without any death or injury, thankfully), and one where I attended with a good friend, and unfortunately we've since lost touch and haven't seen each other since.

Fully Completely. It was my first venture into the Hip and still my favourite. If the Canadian Anthem was replaced by "Wheat Kings" I could die a happy dude.

My brother was killed in a terrible auto accident the same time TATH was released. So needless to say there are several tracks on that album that stand out. In particular ABAC, DWD and Sherpa.

In Violet Light - Going through a really crappy (and messy) separation - (Its A Good Life If You Don't Weaken meant a lot to me)
World Container - In love and happy again with the true love of my life
Yup, my life is a soap opera.............geez, looking back at it, if history truly does repeat itself, I am not sure if i want the Hip to come out with another album?? :roll:
