day for night..it was "our" album....Virginia and myself...a love gone wrong eventually, sadly.i don't believe i'll ever get over her..and that album takes a personal turn every time i play it...

Phantom Power. The album I cut my Hip teeth on. Why I heard "Fireworks" on American radio is, to this day, beyond me. Whatever, lucky me! I was looking for a new band, loved the song, and searched long and hard for the album. When I finally found it, I listened the hell out of it! Are there any bad songs on that album?
Up until World Container, it was my favoirte Hip album. Now it's a close second, followed by TTHH in a close third.

I would have to say Fully Completely, it was my first Hip album and one of the first cd's I ever bought, its like an old friend. IVL is second, 2002 was one of the best summers ever and that album brings back alot of fun memories.

For me, it's Phantom Power. I was 17 when it was released, and I learned it word-for-word over the course of a week that summer up at a family friend's cottage in Catchacoma, Ontario.
Each summer we'd venture into the closest town, Bobcaygeon, for groceries, and needless to say those trips into town took on a special meaning from that point on.
Fireworks was THE song for me that summer; I thought it was the greatest thing I had ever heard. It's lost a lot of its sparkle since then, but every time I hear it I'm taken back to the summer of '98.
Despite what a lot (the majority?) of Hipbasers might say, once the boys have called it a career I think we'll look back to see that Phantom Power was the last great album the Hip released.

Phantom Power has been there for me time and time again.
Music @ Work has gotten me through some of the longest nights at school.

Phantom Power. I'm sure I've mentioned it before (perhaps even in a very similar thread?) but it was the first Hip album I purchased. It reminds me of coming home from swim practice in the dead of winter, sweaty and frozen at the same time. Its a distinct feeling and, somehow, the music matches it perfectly.

This thread depresses me greatly 
Having only discovered about the Hip last year aged 30, I feel i've missed out growing up with the Hip and having the antisipation of each album release and learning to love them along with all the other fans. It really is actually quite depressing knowing this band could and should have been part of my late teens and 20's!
Phantom Power is my Fav album, but Fully Completely is the one i'm drawn to playing the most - so I guess that make it the most personal too me. Although I wish my reason was more legit
