Hey All, trying to track down some misc. email issues whereby some people are not receiving their hip emails.

One of the main culprits, I believe, are those with Yahoo email accounts and I am just trying to confirm if this is correct.

The Yahoo! Mail system automatically filters the majority of incoming bulk or commercial email directly to your Bulk Mail Folder, and I believe this is the main culprit.

I have also identified a few sub domains, which get messed up.

If you did not receive your hip Email and you think you should, can you PM me the email address and I will start to do some more digging and looking for issues, like Yahoo, that I can Identify.

Edit: hmmm, I just created a new yahoo.ca and sent a test through the system and I received it no problem, though I am not sure if Yahoo would pick it up as "spam" when sent as a one off - if you know what I mean, or care

Anyway, I am accepting email addresses of users who did not, but should have, received an email the other day to see if I can solve this once and for all. I will use these email addresses as a new test list.

Ok, this seems to be a problem. I have some yahoo.com people who HAVE recieved email and some who HAVE NOT, and now a yes/no. Grrrr.

I'm not sure if this makes any difference, MAv, but the nl.rogers.com sub-domain we discussed is also run by Yahoo (AFAIK). It looks like my addy is doubly screwed.

I am pretty sure Yahoo uses what I would call a deep cleaning system whereby, when their system identifies a particular piece of email multiple times, accross multiple accounts, then it is classified as bulk email, which is then disllowed. It could also move from the spam folder, after a certain indicator, to then be classified as bulk mail. As the systme cannot really identify good vs. bad - in terms of mail - it just classifies the domain as spam.

This would explain why, for example, I can send one email to my brand new yahoo account through the system, but not to the lot of you.

The sub domain, WKG, is on the other end, as it happens, which I am looking into. As your email, during my test today, didn't leave my system and was completely ignored. . . . to be continued.

Can someone tell me when the last Hip email went out? Cause I havent recieved anything from them in a long time it seems, I just wasnt sure if its me or them now..

and for the record I have an @rogers.com email address, and I know yahoo and rogers are together, so maybe thats why?

Fwiw MAv, receipt at my yahoo.com addy seems to be hit or miss. For ex the one from 4/11 went to my bulk/spam folder but the 5/8 made it to my regular inbox. I usually catch them either way but that's my story. Thanks & good luck. Chris

I'd really like to get the sub domain issue sorted out, as I really don't want to screw around with a web based address just for The Hip updates (as nice as they are ). Of course, by the sounds of it, Hotmail and Yahoo are giving some folks trouble, so I may not have an option, anyway. :?
