Forget the hotel sleep on the beach. Spend hotel money on number 1 seats.

Just flipped it on, and Bobcaygeon's playing.
What a party that must be down there.

Wow. This is pretty well the first time we have no news from anyone the day after a Hip concert. Must be that laid back island style.

Just recovering enough now to write some thoughts on the show in Grand Cayman.
A truly amazing night! It was about 84F/30C with a breeze and although it was hot there were enough clouds in the sky to keep it tolerable. About 2000 people were there with plenty of Canadian flags and an incredible energy. They played 18 songs with no cover song on this night. Opened with "Yer Not The Ocean" and closed the encore with "Blow at High Dough". I'll try find someone with a set list to post.
The crowd was really into it because so few rock shows come to this island, and the thousands of Canadians who live here were eager for a taste of home. The band seemed to feed off of the energy and several times Gord thanked the crowd for inviting them to the island.
The band even attended an after-party on the beach with a few hundred fans.
Apparently the bar sold out of imported Sleeman's beer because they weren't quite prepared for how much the Canadians can drink!
Word is that some of the band and crew are spending the rest of the week here on vacation before the tour picks up again.
I'm sure anyone who came down from Canada for this show left with an incredible memory of seeing this band in a totally unique environment.

The crowd was behaved, although the bars sold out of beer. They weren't prepared for a crowd of 2000 Canadians and their drinking abilities. The band didn't bring merchandise to sell but band-approved tour t-shirts were locally created with "Safehaven - Grand Cayman, BWI" printed on them. They are still on sale at the liquor stores and radio station. Maybe some will end up on e-bay.
Amazing show! Everyone was very into it. The after party was well attended by fans AND by the band who were totally down to earth and maybe even a little surprised by the number of rabid Hip fans down here in the Caribbean. The newspaper article spoke about a return visit next year?!? Maybe a yearly pilgrimage.
