Apparently "The Foundation For The Tragically Hip" was also a commercial spoof from SNL in 1981.
Has anyone seen seasons of SNL available for rent or purchase? This would be worthwhile to capture.

I believe some "best of" for various years were released ages ago on VHS, but I don't think they've released entire seasons. Probably has to do with having to get licenses from all the musicians that have played on the show. Apparently the dvds for Northern Exposure have a lot of the music changed from the original broadcast, so they don't have to pay royalties to the music companies to include the original songs on the dvds. Same reason why WKRP hasn't made it to dvd yet.
