Cool trailer. The first two movies were fun summer popcorn entertainment at it's finest, and I enjoyed both of them. Looks like the new one will be heavy on action.

I actually fell asleep in the theatre during the second one... which speaks to how boring I found it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first one, but unless the reviews and accolades for the third one are out of this world, I'll take a pass and have a nap on my couch.

I found the second as entertaining as the first, which I found very entertaining. I don't find the the movies themselves have particularly good flow, kind of a hodge-podge of plot, which absolutely lends itself to becoming boring, so I can sympathize with the bushels of reviews that state that. For me, the genre is rich enough to keep me entertained, and I'm a bit surprised how much replay value the first two have for me.
From the looks of it, I'm sure I'm going to love the third. It looks like it should have more direction than the second (which I'm positive will be the surrogate "Empire" for the series). With that one out of the way, the third should take a direct route to a conclusion.

Corby's analysis is spot on; however I think they made the second Pirates simply because it was extremely successful but the producers and director had not a clue where the movie was going creatively, so it ended up a hodge podge of a entertaining mess. Based on the trailer, I think they've gotten their head out of their arse and created a film that has a recognizable plot and direction. Looking forward to it! :jump :jump
