Official 2006 NFL Smack

As much as I hate seeing that "someone just stole my icecream" look on Manning's face, you really can't argue that some of the best performers in their respective sports have this same trait, some call it sheer determination...other's call it..being a little b*tch. However, you need not look any further than perhaps the greatest golfer of all time, Tiger Woods, this guy practically invented the "suck out". You could even throw the NHL's leading point scorer and arguably its best player, Sidney Crosby, in that list too.

There's just something about these types of athletes that sometimes makes it hard to cheer for them.

In any event I'm glad football is over for the year. I can go back to waking up on Monday's and not feeling like an absolute bag of crap after drinking a dozen beers and shoving my cake hole with 2lbs of wings. I was up last night for an hour with the worst heart burn in the history of the world...damn you spicy wings...why must you be so tasty???

I have to disagree there. This is by far the worst of them...

The only positive from that show was that it probably made Christina Aguilera go "WTF, enough of this Disney as our new alien overloards shit, I need to get at my bad side". That's about the only good spin I can find from that debacle. Confusedhock:

No complaints for me on the halftime show this year, aside from the oddly dressed tambourine player in the white body suit. Prince can play the guitar. "Purple Rain" in the rain was excellent. I'd watch that any day over McCartney or 2005-era Rolling Stones.

Well, yeah, Christina and Enrique was pretty bad but I stand by my statement.

Prince can play the guitar but too bad for him that he can't sing a lick. I just don't think he knows how to write a good sing. That's just my opinion though. Millions of people love him. To me, "Purple Rain" is boring drivel.

I'd take a 75 year old Keith Richards on stage strumming away over Prince any day. :thumb: Big Grin

Congrats Opiated. Your Niners have a pretty good CB. 8 years/80 mill is a lot to pay but NFL contracts aren't guaranteed so I doubt they'll end up paying the full amount. The damn Bills went to a cover 2 and I don't think that's a good defense for a very good man to man defender like Clements. He's more suited to just play straight up man to man coverage and stick to a receiver and be right up on the line of scrimmage. These zone defenses and schemes in Buffalo didn't utilize his ability.

i'm loving the niners moves so far...and they've waived bryant which is great...he was a waste of time..the "d" is starting to come together, I just hope the offence can pick it up a notch this year, and not have to rely on Gore every play

I'm loving how Jake Plummer would rather retire than be associated with Tampa Bay  .

Plummer wanted to go to Houston. He wanted to play for Kubiak. If Plummer would have been traded to Houston, Plummer would have been the starter and Carr would have been let go. I think it was Houston or nothing for Plummer. He wouldn't even be the starter in Tampa in all likelihood and even if he had a great chance to be the starter, I doubt he would have gone to Tampa anyway. .....unless he unretires and proves me wrong.
