I haven't read anything funny or otherwise about the mass exploitation of working class people in this thread.

Well ... what can I say. I humbly accept. Thank you.
Is there like a statuette or something that goes with this? A gilded Paul-figure holding a laurel crown, or Gordie shaking a golden banana ...

For the record it's totally a reference to the animal and not the city, but as an American I reserve my God given right to vote with my heart and not my brain.

Untill today i thought it was "I remember buffalo and I remember antelope"... *cries*
But thanks to who ever posted the buffalo x 8 sentence, it took me a while to figure it out but when I did it blew my mind.

Chill Sasquatch, it was a call back to a post I made on the Hip story project.
Sasquatch And Mr. Microphone
Archived by: Tim on 07/29/2006
Howdy Yall,
I have many tales of great Hip adventures but today I will share the true story of the rain soaked day that Gordy and Mr. Microphone saved me from being town limb from limb by Sasquatch. The setting is the Gorge at George Washington. The Tragically Hip have been scheduled to play the second day of the three day musical event The Sasquatch Festival. I skillfully convinced a friend to drive us across the mountains to the event (a true hip fan never drinks and drives) and believe me brothers and sisters this Hip fan had more then a fue $7 cans of Molsen. The weather was threatening rain and the normally loud and proud visiting Canadian Hip fans were strangely quiet. Something had them spooked. As we sat on the side of the mountain that passes for seating (puff puff), the gray sky opened up and started vomiting hail the size of loonies. We ran for cover and prayed the apocalypse would pass. Three beers and another joint later the storm stopped and we fled the relative comfort of the porta potty. This is when the first miracle came to pass. The clouds parted and the fue, the strong, the Hip fans took to the floor to await our heroes. We settled in about ten rows back from center stage. To my right was a group of people dressed in Edmonton Oilers jerseys. I quickly dispatched my friend for another round of beer. The Oiler fans started chanting "lets go Oilers". Whats this? I ask. Where is the beloved drunken rendition of Oh Canada? "let go Oilers!" they chant over and over. Being born raised in Buffalo, N.Y. my instincts kicked in. "Lets go Buffalo!" I reply. The Oiler fans turned on me like had kicked a puppy. Before the situation got any further my amigo returned with fresh beers. All was well again. And then the second miracle. The sun broke through the clouds and the best band in the world took the stage. The throngs of wet fans raised their hands to the sky as the Tragically Hip let loose so hard it blew the top three inches of soil off the side of the mountain. I have seen the lads nearly a dozen times, and let me say I have never seen them rock so hard. In the excitement of the moment I failed to notice the seven foot giant of a man in an Oilers jersey creeping up on my blind side. For this was no mortal man. This was Sasquatch himself, come down from the great white north to smite me with his mighty paw. Time slowed down as his ham size fist flew through the air directly at my head. With my cat like reflexes I dodge his punch. I lift my tiny fists and prepare to meet my doom. And then brothers and sisters the third Miracle came to pass. Just as I was about to be slapped around like a hockey puck, a sudden scream fills the air. Upon the stage Gordy himself has engaged in a simulated fight with his microphone stand. "Hey you, stop that, take this, you rotten jerk!" these are not the true words he spoke that day. His true words and actions were so pure they stilled the angry heart of Sasquatch himself. Sasquatch was so stunned by this act of art imitating life that he quickly forgot his prey and was lulled back into the crowed. Now I know that Gordy fights with his Mic stand on the That Night DVD. But I like to think he saw me out there about to be wookie slapped and used his magic powers to save my life. Thank you Gordy and God bless you Mr. Microphone.
P.S.
THE OILERS SUCK!
P.P.S.
:censored You Oilers fans sure are cranky.
