And now it’s the final five.
LTR, you have been with us for a long time but that’s coming to an end.

And so the 5 songs remaining are the 5 that were released in the 90s.

These last 5 songs are classics. Tough to choose, but I'm gonna have to vote Flamenco for this round.

I also voted Flamenco, but it hurt a little bit. It's beautiful.

Flamenco >LTR...for me the top 3 (in no particular order...yet) are Poets, Flamenco and Pigeon Camera. Scared a very close 4th, but as wonderful a song it is, particularly lyrically, it doesn't stand up quite as well as a song. Musically, I connect more with the other three. I'm being really, really, picky though!

Going LTR. To me, just not quite as strong as the others.

I can't vote for LTR yet. Those last few lines -- it's well worth the wait -- as Gord drags it out and the bass line walks down underneath him...it's heavenly.

i voted Poets. shame, i know. but if each of those songs came up on shuffle, Poets is the one i would skip first. not that it isn't a great song (and their best video?) but i think the others are much stronger.

I voted for Flamenco but regret it. These are all 10/10 songs...I can't choose.

All five of these are fantastic songs. However I think one of them is considerably weaker than the other four on the lyrical front, and that's Pigeon Camera. It's a melding of two ideas for which he seemingly didn't have enough material to flesh either out into a whole song. Add to that the non-sequitur of boot burning at the end and the whole thing feels loosely stitched together. Yet musically it has a powerful spell on me, enough so that I will likely go with this as my winner. I love the captured sound effect of the underwater tubular bells which punctuates "plan" as it heightens the dramatic feeling of the song. So I'm going to sinfully ignore the fact that the other four are all lyrically superior compositions (some considerably so... I'm looking at you 'Scared') and vote for feeling the rest of the way on this one.
