The Weakest Link - That Night In Toronto - Round 1
#1

I had forgotten that Sean had asked about doing this and since we did LBU, we might as well throw this into the mix as well.

Choose the song you believe to be the weakest on That Night In Toronto; after 48 hours we will remove the four songs with the most votes and move on to round 2. As before, a song must have at least 10% of the votes in a round to be eliminated or it will carrying into the following round.

This poll will end on Sunday at 9:00am Eastern.

Happy voting,

Shane

Does this count as an album? It's a DVD.

I'm quite obsessed with most things Hip, but That Night in Toronto is not one of them. I haven't watched it enough to have opinions on each song's performance. So at the risk of just voting for the songs I like, I will abstain from voting in this poll and just observe and enjoy the comments.

I'm following your lead on this one.

Would it be possible to run the WC polls concurrently?

Ditto. I have to admit that I'm not entirely sure I've ever watched the whole thing all the way through. Just give the title to gus to make up for the sins of the IBE vote and move on.

I haven’t watched this one in a while, will have to try find time on the weekend to run through it before voting.

I'm going to join you guys on the sidelines. I have this DVD and have watched it a couple of times, but not in many years. I don't know it well enough to make an informed voting decision. My impression after watching it was that, while it was a good show, there are better ones out there.

It would seem there is only limited interest in this one; we will keep it going (assuming there are enough votes to actually make any decisions) but starting on Monday morning, we will kick off World Container Weakest Link.

It's blowing my mind how many people are unfamiliar with this.

This may be The Hip show I've listened to / watched the most over my life. The rants are imprinted into my brain. Probably me my favourite Fully Completely ever (Love Is A First teases) .

And to all of you Summer's Killing Us haters out there... feast on this version. Johnny is fucking machine during it.

And just my two cents... I don't think there's a rush to run World Container at the same time... unfortunately it looks like we will have lots of time to kill here coming up.

I've seen this plenty as well, and I already know which ones are my favourite! I haven't watched it in a couple years though so need to see it again to know which ones are my least favourite. But yeah, some of you have actually never seen it??? And I agree, great version of summer!

I've listened to this numerous times, but watched it less -- I'll have to give it another listen. When I think of this, my main memory is a killer version of Blow to close the show. It migrated its way to closing number, and I think was a pretty incredible way to end many shows that I saw.

I'll be abstaining as well for this one. Doing polls for all the live stuff just seems kinda redundant to me. If we're gonna vote on live material, I'd rather do something like "weakest bootleg". We could pick 10 of the most popular, well-known boots (Roxy & Elsewhere, Milwaukee '98, Hengelo '91, etc...) and do the poll that way.

As for That Night in Toronto, I think I've only watched it maybe twice back when I first bought the Hipeponymous box set. It's a decent enough show, but for some reason I just never gravitated to it in the same way I did with other bootlegs and live shows. I have the mp3s as well, but I don't listen to those much either.

Sort of my idea for the next edition of the bootleg club once we get through the albums. Stay tuned!

Same. I'd just be voting on original versions, not this DVD specifically, so I'll just sit this one out and read the comments.
