My top 10 of 2017, in no particular order:

Spoon - Hot Thoughts
Strand of Oaks - Hard Love
Dead Man Winter - Furnace
Gord Downie - Introduce Yerself
Ryan Adams - Prisoner B-Sides Album (I enjoy this just slightly more than the "A-sides" album)
Jason Isbell- The Nashville Sound
Headstones - Little Army
Sadies - Northern Passage
Matt Mays - Once Upon a Hell of a Time
Deer Tick - Volume 1 and 2

Spotify recently sent me my most listened to artists and songs for 2017 and some were surprising. My top artist of the year (most listened to) was The Replacements, followed by Ryan Adams, Ryan Adams and the Cardinals (I can chalk that up to a lot of spins of Cold Roses), Spoon, and the Headstones. My top 5 songs were all Spoon songs. If I took into account iTunes (the other way I listen to music) as well , I would wager that The Nashville Sound was my most listened to album of 2017.

Must be me, but I just haven't "gotten" The Glorious Sons yet. I have tried, I've listened to them, went to see them once, but haven't really connected with them or their music at all.

I was really surprised that they sold out the K-Rock Center, I honestly didn't think they were that big of a band. Good for them though, more power to them.

Maybe I will give them another listen.

Father John Misty: Pure Comedy -- this one was a grower, took a few listens to really appreciate it, but my top album of the year
Whitehorse: Panther in the Dollhouse -- fun album slightly more pop/rock than their previous albums. Stellar live show.
Margo Price: All American Made -- I think I like her debut a bit more, classic country. Maybe gets a boost because she and her band are so good live.
Matt Good; Something Like a Storm -- bit of a 1980s sound to this
Matt Mays: Once Upon A Hell -- solid rock album, what matt lacks in quantity he makes up for with quality
Stars: There is No Love in Fluorescent Light -- album before was so-so IMO, but I think this may be their best release
Jason Isbell: The Nashville Sound -- continues his streak of amazing albums
Little Hurricane: Same Sun, Same Moon -- underrated dirty blues two-piece from California.
St. Vincent: Masseducation -- strong album, New York is one of my favorite tracks of the year, not quite sure on the live show with no band and a backing track but I'm curious
Spoon: Hot Thoughts -- another solid album, Hot Thoughts also in my top tracks of the year

Gord Downie: Introduce Yourself -- I'm really waiting for the vinyl to give this a proper listen, but have streamed it more than few times (big mistake listening on release day at work). All I can really say it is something special to leave behind, and really makes me think about the connections that we make in this short time we're here...use it up....

I first saw them live about 4 years ago when they opened up for Head of the Herd. They had literally just put out their EP weeks before and were still in their first couple weeks of the tour. They went on stage and I thought nothing of them until they started to play some old blues covers. One of the best Doors covers I have ever seen. God Damn Brett's voice is awesome. It's just refreshing to see a young band coming up that is just flat out rock and roll. No bullshit. Their new album took me a lot more time to get into than their older stuff, but it's still good. Give them another chance live. That is where they really shine in my opinion. I have seen them 10 or more times play for 12 people up to 1600 people. Sucks that now they are bigger, you get all the young and/or drunk fucks who go and ruin the show for others, but its still a good time. If you get the chance to talk to them, they are super nice.

If you are looking for a new band of 2017 though...Black Pistol Fire...They are UNREAL live. Seen them 4 times in the last 5 months and going to see them in February again when they open up for ZZ Ward. Not sure who she is, but they are worth the ticket price alone. Their new album is very very good. Real Bluesy feel to it....older Black Keys/White Stripes feel. They also give Dave Grohl a run for nicest guy in R&R.

Video does them no justice...but..

Mondo Cozmo - Plastic Soul. This one steals the 2017 race for me by a long shot.

Also enjoying The National, Margo Price, and At The Drive In.

Sigur Ros, Alt-J, and Explosions in the Sky shows yielded serious ass kickings this year.
