I'm still lurking about. I replied to your PM.

The thought of never seeing a live Hip performance again still hurts me deep down to my soul. Now I cherish the memories I have of meeting other Hipbasers at concerts. All the great audio and video recordings​ which were shared here have found new life in my car/DVD.

I felt lucky to be an American fan who was allowed to share in the pride and love for an iconic Canadian band. I saw The Hip open the Air Canada Centre to thousands of fans and I've seen them in small American clubs with just 500 other fans. The Hip worked as hard and were comfortable playing on a large or small stage. I admired them for that, besides my love of their​ music.

My last Hip concert was in Hamilton, ON. I am fortunate CBC Windsor broadcasts into Detroit as I got to watch the final concert live from Kingston​ with the rest of Canada. I became depressed after this show and I didn't listen to any of my Hip CDs or recordings for about 6 months. I was angry and upset things turned out this way, but I finally have come to grips with the situation. I'm enjoying my Hip collection again.

I'm so proud of Gord D and how he has used this opportunity which took him by surprise, to bring Canada together and reconcile through The Secret Path. My message to Gord is to stay positive and upbeat as you work through your difficult treatments. I pray for your healing often, just as I know all of you do, also.

Grief manifests in a myriad of different ways. I went in the polar opposite direction after the news last May and after the Kingston concert when I listened to the Hip (and solo Gord) pretty much daily. I've never stopped listening to the Hip over the years (although my love of the band has ebbed and flowed), but I would say 2016 was the most I've listened to the band since probably 1993-95. Glad you're back to enjoying the music again!
