Here's my quick fbook comment about this article on Joel's page.
'My first Hip show I was sixteen. Harbour Station.
It was a shame that I had to sit through an opening set from someone I've never heard before...
Bought Truthfully Truthfully after the show.
I have never been more blown away by an opening set than the first time I saw JPE.
Thanks for the amazing memories, Joel! Have probably seen you 30 times since then!'

I can't believe that evening was the birth of not only a Hip obsession, but a lifelong love affair with Joel Plaskett as well.

Really enjoyed the Canada day show where he read that poem he wrote for Gord, easy to tell how much he admires him. I saw he is playing a show in January back in Calgary with a symphony, think we may make the trek for that show

The symphony shows are great -- saw the one in Ottawa a few years ago. One thing that was really cool was Joel occasionally moving to the side stage and listening to the orchestra interpretation of his work.
Managed to snag front row for this show. The drums really threw me off.
