GN'R Canadian dates
#16

people need to get over Slash...he quit the band in 1996...this band is Guns N' Roses...the new guitarists are incredible...go see the show and then you can judge

Management is quoted as saying the record will be out on a Tuesday before this year is over...word is November 21st or 28th...with little or no advance marketing....which makes perfect sense in the world of GN'R

get over Slash? he is a fucking living breathing guitar God...on par with Hendrix, Clapton, Rhodes, Dimebag, and Page! no matter who the fuck axl pays to stand in for Slash (even if he got Kirk Hammet or Zakk Wylde), the bottome line would remain the same: they ain't Slash!

even when they had Buckethead, they're still weren't (and could never possibly) be as good as they were with Slash! all the songs you're gonna hear them play (all the good ones at least) are HIS SONGS!

if anything people need to get over G'n'R, they had a great run while it lasted...but it's over now, actually it's been over for over a decade now! they're as pathetic as Our Lady Peace without Mike Turner...

i'm not going to waste money on going to see Guns'n'Poeseurs to "judge for myself"...

AXL should O.D. on something and die...but alas, it seems only the cool rock stars die young, not the shitty ones that should.

hey, I ain't knocking Slash, but he chose to leave...whether he couldn't stand Axl anymore is his deal. But the fact is, with Axl, you get the best of Slash...without Axl, you get Snakepit, Blues Ball and Velvet Revolver. He's had a few decent moments since leaving, but that's it. Slash wanted the first Snakepit album to be the next Guns record. He thought musically, that was it. Does anyone remember anything from it?

Axl was the vision behind that band, plain and simple. They grew apart...Axl has chosen to move on and reinvent. Too bad you don't want to go see the show, b/c you'll miss one of the best rock shows you'll ever see....this band is that good.

What did Axl reinvent? Seems to me he just hired different musicians and made a few new songs. The only songs the fans will want to hear are classic G & R songs so in essence Axl fronts something as close to a cover band as you can get.

Guns N Roses were a GREAT rock band. WERE. They made some timeless rock and roll classics. The time is over. At the very least, why couldn't Axl just change the name of the band? Why is he trying to hold on to the past so much?

to make money so he can have rose pedal baths and sip champagne while he's supposed to be out on stage performing ...

besides nobody would care what he was doing if it wasn't still called G'n'R...

I haven't heard any of the new material, but apparently it's supposed to fit right in with the classics & all the reviews i've heard have been very positive.

Dizzy is touring with this version of GN'R, and word has it that Izzy Stradlin might be joining the fold sometime before christmas.

As for the album, still no official word, though rumors continue to hint that it'll be out November 21st, with only a couple of days notice.

The anticipation is killing me. I haven't been this excited for an album release ever! Big Grin (sarcasm alert)

Izzy did play all summer with them through Europe. Other new songs are Catcher in the Rye, There Was A Time, Madagascar and The Blues. you can find live versions of all but Catcher in the Rye. And they only play a couple of new songs now, because the day after a show, everything is all over youtube...would you want to give away a whole record before it's released? Axl's voice is better than ever live. I've seen them and they are ridiculously good.

And Axl isn't holding on to the past......of course he's gonna play old songs, but Slash wanted the band to sound the same as they always had and Axl wanted to move forward...that's a big reason why things busted up. Slash didn't want to do songs like Nov. Rain and Estranged. Go listen to the new demos and you'll hear what Axl's been up to....the tip of the iceberg, but an interesting one at that.

C'mon guys! Axl and his hired friends still rock and show a tonne of class and appreciate their fans. Just read this story: http://thecelebritycafe.com/features/8077.html .

Well, it's impossible to play a rock show without having booze on stage isn't it?

Axl is such a blowhard and a jackass that I would laugh my ass off if he got drunk on stage and stumbled into a flamepot...

lol! every band on earth plays their new material before the album comes out..so that excuse is B.S....and this new material you speak of isn't even new anymore it's been around for years...

and IMO, November Rain is a terribly boring song...
