CBC in talks to broadcast Hip's 'final show'
#46

Market Square simulcast seems to be a go. Get down there if you don't have a ticket!

Got a chance to talk to the woman who started the change.org petition. Needless to say, she's pretty happy with what's been announced this morning.

Its awesome that we'll have an unedited high quality video of this show! Although im guessing the actual broadcast will attempt to censor swearing which is unfortunate. Maybe they'll let the swearing slide on the streamed broadcast.

For sure. It's 'art' after all. So you can swear and show a half-nip here and there.

You have to figure if it is a guest laden show it is an indication to it being their last.

As well, just them agreeing to the CBC broadcasting it seems to also indicate they are aware it will be their last show.

Surviving two years with his condition is considered very good - I think you can safely bet, this time around is indeed the last

CBC have a show called Schitt's Creek -- sure they'll be OK with a bit of naughty language.

Gord has always been singularly immune from the censors and I expect the same.
Seriously, censoring Gord is fucked up.

I was hoping this wouldn't happen only because I'd rather see a proper documentary and concert film of the tour . I can't see that happening.

I could see a documentary of the tour behind the scenes as a whole, not a concert film. The CBC-shot bits could be a supplement to it.

Wishful thinking.

Live broadcast starts at 8:30 ???

Have you ever been to a show that started at the time the ticket says? I haven't.
There was no opener for the Fully and Completely tour and the showtime was 8pm but the band didn't go on until closer to 9 pm. Sale for the US Now For Plan A Tour.
RUSH always hits the stage 10 minute after the ticket says they start. And they play for three hours with a 15 minute break in the middle.

How will this be viewable in the US or otherwise?
