I should just rename the thread "Frustrated".

If the media was all over the lack of availability before the general on-sale, get ready......

Thanks media for all the coverage to make extra sure that every available scalper would be all over the general on-sale! The speculative buyers couldn't have done it without you. :thumb:

Speaking of media coverage, with the Hip back in the spotlight it was only a matter of time before the pompous douchebag music snobs made their presence known. Strangely, this guy admits to liking the band, but makes sure to get his shots in just so everybody knows that he's above all the Hip worship.

We need to send Paul out for some classic Langlois ass kicking.

Like everything else Colby Cosh has ever written, why saying something in five simple words when you can say it in five hundred exquisitely overwrought ones?

"The Hip are a sweaty, churning bar band, crankily averse to technical virtuosity, fronted by a freaky, funky beatnik who dances like even God could not possibly be watching. They are grinding, industrial urbanity trying to escape itself, consoling itself with talk of the sea and the stars. Their new record is called Man Machine Poem, and if they were trying to sum themselves up in that phrase, job done."

HAHAHA I can't imagine the band not LOVING that paragraph.

It's perfect that Tyler Dellow gets a mention in there as being friends with this guy. For those who don't know, Dellow is a failed lawyer who got a job as an analytics person for the Edmonton Oilers. He had to quit twitter a few months ago for slagging Bell Lets Talk day. He is known as being a gigantic asshole and is generally disliked by most people who have had an encounter with him.

Having met Tyler - we have mutual friends - I will disagree with that statement. He does have weird views on the Hip, mind you Wink

Fair point. I've never met him and only go by what I've seen on twitter. Unfair of me to make that statement.

If you want some insider information, this is a good write-up about why it's so difficult to get (good) tickets to shows and sporting events, written by the guy that ran Ticketmaster for a few years. https://theringer.com/ticket-industry-p ... .mawasfw0j
