It may have been mentioned elsewhere, but I thought this deserved it's own post - CBC in talks to broadcast 'final' Hip show: http://www.cbc.ca/news/arts/tragically- ... -1.3609414

Awesome! I've heard there are no cameras allowed so this will be my memento from the concert. This is great.

I hope it's professionally recorded, one way or the other, so people can put their damn iPhones down and enjoy the show.

This is great and all but I'd rather see the band put out something professional to document these shows. At least one good video recording and hopefully all shows available for audio download. I don't see that they have anything to lose at this point.

This would be amazing. If this was broadcast like from Kingston, I would think it would draw an unbelievable audience (right?). Show the concert live on Saturday night across the country (Stanley Cup should be over by then).
Of course, w/ CBC involved... it'll probably be a 1 hour special that airs 3 weeks later, and spends most of the time interviewing fans for their thoughts on what the Hip means to Canada, with short 90 second clips of half a song here & there.

God I hope the Stanley Cup would be over by then or that is one long ass overtime.

Would be great for the Hip to release select dates of the tour (maybe the Toronto 3 nights and Kingston) as a box set dvd/cd and have proceeds go to Cancer research/Gord's family.

They should do it at movie theatres, similar to the WATS special, all money raised from ticket sales directly to cancer research. Then available on DVD, again with all money going directly to research.

If I can't get tickets, I will be outside waiting all day in case some get released. If not, I will be there even if its not set up for people outside to see.
Standing in the rain, with his head hung low
Couldn't get a ticket, it was a sold out show
Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene
Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream
He heard one guitar, just blew him away
