2016 Tour Dates

I've never been more nervous for tickets to go on sale. I'm rather spoiled, as 6/8 shows I've been to I've got front row or second row through fan club presale. This time though, if I end up in the top row of the nosebleeds, I'll still be happy.

9 Hip shows in 6 different venues

2007-01-20 - Winnipeg - MTS Centre
2009-09-10 - Winnipeg - Centennial Concert Hall
2011-07-07 - Winnipeg - Shaw Park
2012-12-01 - Fargo - Fargo Theatre
2013-01-26 - Winnipeg - MTS Centre
2013-01-28 - Brandon - Keystone Centre
2013-09-06 - Moose Jaw - Mosaic Place
2015-02-14 - Winnipeg - MTS Centre
2016-08-05 - Winnipeg - MTS Centre

I was pissed when I saw sign ups are still open. Let the real fans go, not the hangers on.

So let me get this straight.....I saw my first Hip show in just prior to Up To Here being released, and I've seen them likely in the neighbourhood of 8-10 times since then. They were the soundtrack of my late teens and 20's. For one reason or another, I've never signed up for the fan club. It's just not a thing I normally do. However I obviously, along with many other people in this country, want to be sure to see them one last time on this tour.

This classifies me as a 'hanger on' and 'not a real fan'. Gotcha.

This should be about celebrating the band, and Gord. The fact is that The Tragically Hip have played a part in countless thousands of Canadians lives - and just because some of us weren't on a mailing list doesn't make our love for them any less. I hope you get to see the show, and I hope I do as well. Lets leave the pettiness out of it, and let the cards fall where they may.

Cheers.

If we get the password for the pre-sale on Monday morning do we still have to go through the hip website or can we go directly to ticket masters website, and then enter the password?...further how did it work in the past for pre-sales! :welcome

Jlittlebones... depends... I think I've seen it both ways in the past. Tech changes, TM offers new solutions. Likely it'll just be the standard presale password emailed to the mailing list, and you have to enter in on the TM website, but we won't really know until Monday gets here.

Ten Club is a little different since it is a paid subscription, therefore the longer you have been paying the better chance you should have on scoring seats. I think the sentiment is more geared towards people that have little invested in the band, or scalpers and bots that will take advantage of the pre-sale. That does not sound like you.

"Solutions" isn't quite the term I'd use, but yes, things change now and then.

I've been a PJ fan since the beginning, and I also typically do not sign up for lists. Ten club used to be a horrible setup, you pay blindly for a seat, not knowing the location, some of 10c seats were the worst in the house. So I never joined. Since PJ became more economically powerful, they have gained access to better seats, but 10c is seniority based, so why join for little or no chance, at least where the ticket demand is overwhelming. So I'm less a fan?

Luckily I have always been on The Hip list. Still, these tix are going to be very difficult to score.

Dana. I've never met you. But I hope the Hip gods will forever shine upon in the quest for tickets.
Godspeed Dana.

Oh man, the app is so bad. I was biking and heard an alert but news wouldn't load. Had a little panic attack.

Does anyone know if additional dates may be added for some venues? In the past, I know they've put a tentative hold on a second night at a same venue, only the announce the show after tickets for the first show have gone on sale and it has sold out. I haven't heard any rumours from any of the venues, but the large gaps between dates is suspicious.

I'm under the impression that the gaps are because Gord needs more time to recuperate between shows.

I hate that they are sending out the passwords 12 hours before the on sale. Every fan club member should have a unique pre sale code, or email the passwords an hour before the on sale.

Okay thanks, that was the other possibility I was considering. What a trooper.

Good luck with seats everyone!
