Ya gotta think if the album was coming out in the spring, there would have been some kind of announcement by now. At this rate I'm betting it won't see the light of day until at least May. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm starting to think that one of these days the Hip are going to release their new album out of nowhere.
No radio singles beforehand, no lead up hype. Maybe they release it on their website. Maybe for free.
The traditional model hasn't really worked for them for the last few albums. Wilco did it last year and had a lot of success.
Maybe the surprise and the buzz that follows gets more people out to shows.

Looking forward to the Drew/Hamelin produced new album. Has it really been in the can for almost a year now?
Hope they got some melodic stuff out of Gord. Kevin did an amazing job on the Andy Kim album from last year.
WATS will be 7 years old in 2 months and there's only been one album during that time, but I understand the slowing down. Getting older is a b&%$#!
The silence is deafening...

I guess Mav does not come on here much anymore to give us any updates or teases...maybe he isn't even doing any work for them anymore?
want to be a nobody without peer
want to be a thought that's never done
want to shake your faith in human nature
want to break the hearts of everyone
want to be your wheezing screen door
want to be your stars of Algonquin
want to be your roaring floorboard
want to break the hearts of everyone

I'm surprised we haven't heard an update yet. No release date, no track list, no pre-order announcement. Just...nothing. C'mon Hip, throw us a bone fer Christ sakes!

Getting antsy - been too long with no new Hip!
If they wanted to re-release DFN on vinyl to tide me over, that would be okay too.

Personally, I have little use for re-issues unless they come equipped with substantial 'new' material from the vaults: demos, alternate tracks, unreleased songs, etc.. I'm not interested in the Hip as a nostalgia band.

A nostalgia band is what they are now. The whole Fully Completely thing was totally in that vein. One unreleased song (Radio Show). Plus a different version of So Hard Done By. Which is to say, a nostalgia re-release. I don't like it either. But it's what they are now.
