Lol. I didn't get any photos. I wanted to get one with the girls with the Tragically Hip logo spray painted on their naked upper halves... But I couldn't make it happen.

And further to an earlier comment about the band not getting paid - the band donates their time and the foundation makes a $150,000 donation to a chairity that the band chooses.

All in it was a fun time, and for $500 not a bad deal. A show at the ACC wouldn't have been much cheaper - $120 for ticket, $25 to park, $12 a beer, plus pre show dinner... Gets to be a few hundred bucks pretty quick. At this event I was three people from the stage, all the food and beer I wanted was seconds from my spot, not a single person tried to push their way through to get to the front, and I was able to return to my spot without issue. It was so nice versus the standard GA experience.

And I get a tax receipt for my ticket as it was a donation.

800 people is not that small of a group as far as im concerned, I paid $250 for Ivor Wynne show and I had row 5 center isle seats, so only 5 people infront of me, then I went up the isle to the rail for a bit, plus I got free drinks and food at that show, then to top it all off I got one of the drum sticks. So $500 is a fair price but my deal at Ivor Wynne was better. Just saying.

chris Wrote:It was VERY LOUD. VERY. LOUD. The sound system was terrific, especially after the concert when DJ Joe Dert took over.

All the food and booze you could consume was included. Lots of security and cops on duty to keep everyone in line and safe.

The majority of the attendees looked and acted like regular joes, and I think that most were. There were definitely a few "party people" there, folks who live that party life. The only person of any fame that I saw or heard was there was Dean McDermott aka Mr. Tori Spelling.

There were a few mega wealthy folks there, but they aren't famous.

The party after the concert was surreal. Around the pool it was a scene from a movie - bikini girls in the pool, scantily clad girls dancing on the roof of the cabana, a famous DJ, lights and sounds like ive never seen before, etc.
I take back my previous comment about my $250 being a better deal as it was October and all the ladies were wrapped up tight in coats and hats and such, but bikini girls is worth the extra $250 for sure.

chris Wrote:Lastly $500 is within the reach of most working folks. Skip your morning stop at Timmy's for a few months, scale back on the cigs, pass on a couple of nights out at the local watering hole to instead go to a cool event in a setting many will never ordinarily get to experience.

well, then, i stand corrected. we are a working family (i work, my wife stays home) with two young kids and i know that $500 would not be easy for us to come up with. i take my own coffee to work, don't smoke and don't go to bars. so while i agree that the experience would be amazing, just don't assume that it is easy for everyone to afford it.

glad you had fun

Mark, I work, my wife stays home, and we have a two year old and a four year old, and I run my own business.

No where did I say or assume it was easy for everyone to afford it. I said it is "within the reach of most working folks." Most is not everyone, and within reach doesn't mean easy.

Anywho... I'll put it in the memory bank as a neat experience.
