Damn Expensive Merchandise
#1

What I hate and cannot understand is why the Hip's merchandise is so damn expensive!
I guess I can understand why some of the prices are inflated at the shows, because that is how older bands have always done it for some damn reason.
But the prices never seem to go down. Most other bands I follow have sales, specials, deals, etc... (and I am not talking about their $25 off sale on their new extremely over priced hockey jersey)
But the Hip never have sales or drop prices even on the super old merchandise. They are missing out on tons of sales I believe. There is no reason a shirt should be selling online for $30 plus shipping.
Yes you can point out that occasionally they do have "bundle deals" but even those wanna be deals suck. The Hip's shipping alone is horrendous.
An example: around christmas from another band I bought 2 t-shirts one CD and three stickers and with shipping and tax the grand total came to $46.

I'd like to add that their most recent screenprinted shirts are pretty low quality. I have worn mine 5 times max, washed in cold water and hung to dry, yet it looks SO beat up. Very disappointing because I really liked the 'highway' logo and now its crackled to shit. I have pearl jam shirts I've been wearing for years that look new by comparison.

Has anyone bought the Road Apples shirt? I ordered one and hope for $34 it lasts a few years.

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

We bought my son the red road apples tshirt when we were at the "we are the same" tour shows, and it still looks and feels brand new, how do I know this you ask, because my kid wont do his own laundry so I am always washing it for him.

I saw Pearl Jam in London and their EVENT sticker saying Pearl Jam London 2013 was only $2. Yet in Buffalo the Hip generic sticker was $5. Seems a bit much for a sticker.

the funny part is that the sticker is actually $10 - thats why the guy that sold it to you looked at you a little funny and then let you go.... and yes $10 is brutal for that...
