Many of these are Australian, as I spent the entire year there.

Japandroids-Celebration Rock (Time to pump yer fists)
Mac DeMarco-2 (Time to get sleazy)
Fresh & Onlys-Long Slow Dance (These guys have arrived as some of the more comprehensive songwriters in the indie world)
The Smith Street Band-Sunshine & Technology (Bombastic, good time punk with an analytical edge)
Ty Segall-Twins (This guy's THIRD album of 2012. THIRD. A sonic assault)
Boomgates-Double Natural (Jangle, so hot in Oz right now. An uncomplicated, great Saturday afternoon record)
Hoodlum Shouts-Young Man, Old Man (Midnight Oil V 2.0)
Money For Rope-Money For Rope (Rhythm heavy, 70's influenced stadium ready rock)
White Laces-Moves (Radiohead is overrated. If you want atmosphere, this is yer record)
Chris Wollard & The Ship Thieves-Canyons (Southern-influenced rock. Saturday night listening)

Escape Is At Hand-Tales of a Boy and a Band due June 2013 from Eternal Cavalier Press

Idunno if I can name TEN but I can list TEN albums I'll make a note about. I'll name the ones that rocked me and I think I'm the first to list AFP?

Amanada Palmer: Theatre is Evil (a little divergent from the rock mainstream but goddamn fun and awesome!)
Tragically Hip: Now for Plan A (I heart Man Machine Poem)
Smashing Pumpkins: Oceania (Billy has lost NOTHING!)
Joel Plaskett: Lightning Bolt ("fell apart, at a party, drinkin' red wiiiIIiIIIine and Bacardi" ...nuff said)
Mother Mother: The Sticks (If you haven't checked these guys out yet....chop chop)
Plants and Animals: End of That (Some lovely tracks and primo sound recording! This record sounds f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c)

Albums I was disappointed in, or supremely disappointed in:

Silversun Pickups: Neck of the Woods (Opening track is killer, and then it just...loses me)
Metric: Synthetica (...Pass. "Fantasies" rocked my socks but this doesnt tickle me.)
Alanis Morissette: Guardian (I'm a closet Alanis fan. But with that much time off, she came up with nothing special)

Top 9 I guess.

This link is giving me a "permission denied" message. Did it reach its limit? I look forward to the Daylight "best of" every year -- hoping I can still snag it somehow?
