Now For Plan A - Oct 2, 2012 - 11 tracks

Possibly a dumb question but where did that graphic above come from (regarding the vinyl)? What's a short sell cycle? I'm a curious man..,

Not asking for filez or anything, but i'm a little surprised there isn't a leak yet. If I remember correctly, WatS had been floating around online for a couple weeks at this point.

Edit: Actually, i'm wrong. I just dug back through the forum (I love how every single post i've ever made is archived on here), and we all start discussing the WatS leak late March 21st/early morning of the 22nd. The actual album dropped April 7th, so it leaked just a little bit more than two weeks before it released.

Actually it was leaked about 5 weeks early but not really made public until about 2 weeks.

Amazon has sound clips up:

It's too tough to base an opinion on 30-second clips, but this album sounds a bit mellower than I thought it would be. Not as mellow as WATS, but not quite as rocking or in-yer-face as WC either. It falls somewhere in between. I really like what I'm hearing though, and I can't wait to get this sucker in my grubby little hands.

Wow...that's all I can say...this sounds like a masterpiece so glad they moved away from Bob Rock...I liked WC but WATS except for a few songs is my least favorite album and the one I find I listen to the least...again I know it's only clips but with these clips and what we already have heard I think for me this will be one close to the top of their collection! :music

I Agree Modern Spirit was amazing. Actually songs 7 through 9 make for a very good trifecta. Love it!

As much as I was critical of how this album seemed to be panning out before it may all be worth it just for We Want To Be It (Drip, Drip, Drip). Sounds like a great recording and I loved it live.

EDIT: Seriously, Gord's vocal sounds amazing on that. Possibly his best vocal performance on album in a long time?

loving the feel of We Want To Be It, good vibes from the samples but no fully formed opinions til it's heard in its entirety.

for the stat-minded folks, this will clock in as The Hip's shortest album (EP obviously excluded)

DFN 59:26
WATS 57:21
TATH 52:34
M@W 51:40
PP 50:28
RA 49:08
FC 46:45
IVL 45:16
UTH 43:29
WC 42:27
IBE 40:13
NFPA 39:18

a full 20 minutes and 8 seconds shorter than Day For Night Confusedhock: .. here's hoping this is a quality over quantity approach (though DFN certainly had both)

I can't do it. I can't listen to the samples and "spoil" the new album. Fue things in life are as sweet as that car ride home from the record store with a brand new tragically hip cd.

No samples for me! Going to wait to hear the whole thing
