Finally broke down and bought myself one of the new iPads last weekend.

My wife has had a gen 1 and iPad 2, and uses it extensively for reading, quick internet lookups etc. My daughter uses it all the time for either games, drawing, or using face-time to talk with her grandmother in California.

Curious to find out what people here mostly use their iPad for, and if anyone has recomondations for apps they use all the time.....

My iPad has become the de-facto tool to use while taking a dump. It has been flagged.

Also awesome for out on the deck while I'm holding the baby. Nothing like a cool kid, cold beer, warm weather, and the internets all at the same time.

Microsoft announced their iPad competitor. The launch event was marred by glitches/crashes/failures of the device and an alarming resemblance to the iPad launch event from 28 months ago:

I upgraded from the one to the three - and the speed is like night and day, really unbelievable
I use mine for:
Since your daughter has one then grab Draw Something and play against her.
Light Bikes: my kid and I play against each other.
Twitter - I use Twitterific instead of the native app.
I can set my DVR using my iPad
Remote: I use it mostly for my iTunes streaming while I am outside and when I have people over they like choosing what we listen to as they pass it around., but the AppleTV remote function is also there.
Email
Internet - and the new reading function or whatever it is called - if you see an article you want to store and read sometime just hit the button and it saves the text for you.
USA Today
I have found no use for the airplay feature.
My kids use it for Netflix.
Local newspaper
Different games: Fragger, Angry Birds, Temple Run (damn stupid monkeys) Wheres my Water, Rolling Fall, Bubble Ball
Air Video Free - you can stream any video format from your computer.
And of course I use it for the non-mobile version of Hipbase
