Watching Neil Young’s set, I noticed a woman in the crowd remove her top, to the cheers of hundreds of men around her. I turned to Gord Downie and said, “Neil’s lovely new song about his country has been hijacked by a pair of tits.” Gord gritted his teeth, shook his head in disappointment and then looked up and said, “No. Augmented, Steve. Augmented.”

That's quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen Gord quoted as saying! :lol:

BNL is a Canadian treasure too. The first time i seen them was right around Gordon was released and they were on the bill at the University of Buffalo Spring Concert. i went to check out the Violent Femmes but the name of the band caught my eye and i figured to at least see what they were about. In true BNL fashion they were hilarious. i remember them doing a rap comic tune about mcdonalds that i've always kept an eye out for but never found. {i heard it was on one of the early demos but mcdonalds frowned on using there name. or at least thats what i remember} i've seen them 6 times since and its always a good time. they were the first concert at Buffalo's HSBC arena. The goo goo dolls, BNL, AND the 10,000 maniacs. The goos were the hometown darlings and playing for the first time in front of a 19,000 plus fans. the night was supposed to be
theres. i was {still am} a big Goo Goo Dolls fan but that night BNL stole the show. i felt bad that the Goo's had to follow them.
