Did anyone else see the battle of Alberta last night. I fired my remote at the tv and didn't hang around to see if that broken stick got the first star... UGLIEST GOAL OF THE YEAR HANDS DOWN.

There's lots of great races this year, whether it's for the last 2 playoff spots in the East and the last 3 spots in the West, right up to the top where you have all of Carolina, Ottawa, Buffalo, Detroit and Dallas all after the Presidents Trophy. Then you have the Calder Trophy "race" between Alex Ovechkin & Sidney Crosby. Joe Thornton (97 points) and Jaromir Jagr (96 points) are going to battle it out for the Art Ross the next few weeks, while Jagr (45 goals) will also attemp to hold off Ovechkin, Kovalchuk and Cheechoo in an attemp to capture the Richard Trophy, etc. And speaking of Jaromir Jagr, how about hit game winning goal last night! That was pretty damn sweet.

That was absolutely brutal. Amazing how the Oilers continue to pull points out of their ass like that. I can't believe they're still in the playoff hunt. You'd think their luck would run out at some point, but it hasn't.

Fuuuuuuuuuck!! :x

46 shots against the worst team in the league and we still lose! These losses hurt the most, especially since we needed the points bad. Abeischer wasn't very good tonight I think that was the difference, I dont want to jump all over him so soon, but I think Huet should go back in for the time being. I think Abs will be a good goalie for us, but Huet is the hotter goalie at the moment.

GO HABS!!!

Aebisher didn't play well at all, looked very shaky and let in some bad goals. I honestly have never been a fan of Aebisher's at all & really don't think he's that good. He is better than he's played for the Habs in his two games so far though, giving up a total of 10 goals.

Jaromir Jagr is the first player to break the 100 point barrier this season, with points 97, 98, 99 and 100 in tonights game against the Leafs (1g3a). He also picked up his league leading 46th goal in the game, and inches closer to the Rangers all-time records. Graves holds the single season goal record at 52, and Ratelle the points record with 109.

Confusedhock: How bout Calgary losing 9-4 to Nashville today. Yikes are these Preds for real or what? Could be a playoff dark-horse team. I like the team they have, but I never thought I'd see the day when a team from Nashville may hoist Lord Stanley. Im starting to wonder if I should put my money on the Preds this year.. :?

Talk about crapping the bed. As a Flames fan, I don't think I could be more embarassed for my team than I am tonight. The Flames just didn't show up, plain and simple. And they got absolutely spanked as a result. Our defence was god awful, and Boucher couldn't have stopped a freakin' beach ball tonight. Kipper would've kept it a lot closer. We still would've lost, but at least it wouldn't have been a blowout. Just an all around disgusting performance by the Flames.

And yes, the Preds are one scary team. Tonight's win completed the sweep of their season series with the Flames. If we end up meeting them in the playoffs, we're toast.

The power just went out in Pittsburgh, midway through the 2nd it's still 0-0, but the power is out Sad

Calgary 3 Minnesota 2.

Thank god! We still need to tighten things up defensively, but overall this was a MUCH better effort than last night's gong show in Nashville. Iggy and Huselius were tremendous tonight, and for Kipper it was just another day at the office. Now if we can just string a few wins together and solidify our playoff position, everything will be fine.

The power eventually came back on for good & the Leafs win a big one, 1-0 on the strenth of strong goaltending from Tellqvist & a penalty shot goal by Chad Kilger. Leafs are just 3 points back of Montreal now with 2 head-to-head games against the Habs this week.

Vancouver is getting spanked by Detroit so far tonight, putting them in a dangerous position. San Jose and Anaheim both won yet again tonight. The Nucks now sit tied for 8th with Anaheim, but the Ducks (assuming Vancouver doesn't come back to win tonight) have 3 games in hand still, while the Sharks are just 2 points back with 3 games in hand as well.

I think most of the team is going through the motions for sure. There's no desperation. Sad to see.

so i guess the mandate from the league is that if a game is exciting, fast paced and fun to watch, you'd better start to call a penalty every 30 seconds..even though the nucks are up by 2, and i love that..i just don't get why the officials would want to ruin the flow of such a great game
