I've seen my fair share of porn, but I've never watched even 30 seconds of American Idol or Canadian Idol. Now, don't get me wrong - I watch my fair share of crap TV (like any Leaf game in January) - but I simply cannot stand the concept of Idol or anything that makes Paula Abdul famous all over again.
Same here, I hate Idol and all those other "reality" type shows, they make me want to smash my tv to pieces. Seems like tv today is just flooded with nothing but crap, but the upside is I rarely watch tv anymore and do other more interesting/productive things with my time instead.

Does anyone else find any similarities between Taylor Hicks and Gord Downie?
I never watch these shows(except for when they're on), and I don't understand why I took a liking to this guy. I mean, last week I was nearly ready to call and vote. That's f#$king crazy! Tonight, my wife says to me, "You know why you like him so much? It's because he acts like Gord Downie". My brain stopped for a second and paused. She was right. There's something about this guy. I know, I know, I do feel shame watching this stuff, but that guy's got some energy and serious musical talent. He's got the music in him.

Well, tonight is the first time I've ever caught American Idol. I kept it on just out of curiousity 'cos I wanted to see this guy.
And all I can say is anyone with almost as much grey hair as me deserves to win, on principle.

It was a'ight youknowwhatahmsayin' but I just wasn't feelin' it dawg.
He is an amazing talent and there is sense of Gorditude...

My first impression of him was more Joe Cocker but I can see the Gord in him.

The other night I realized that what pisses me off about this guy is, he's never heard of Gord Downie but that's exactly who he wants us to think he is: all weirdly shamanistic and possessed by the music. You'll have to wait until next Wednesday to see him perform again. Right now it's ladies on Tuesday, guys on Wednesday, and the results on Thursday. There's no way he gets voted off this week.
